World map pin on desktop app to show VPN location.
On iOS app, when you choose a VPN location, the world map pin moves to that location. It would be nice to have this same behavior on the desktop app (Windows). Right now, the map pin is always in the the center of the country. For example, US shows map pin always in state of Nebraska.

Use Quantum-Resistant Cryptogtaphic Algorithm
OpenVPN uses TLS for encryption, Quantum Proof Algorithms including the four selected by NIST are provided by liboqs. The library is already present in repositories of many Linux Distros. liboqs is integrated in TLS, means no additional work is required for the client side. This would be very easy to implement in The VPN.
Much better alternative would be that Proton makes it's own Algorithm. It would be a good way to add it as an optional feature in the initial stages for testing.

Cidr Notation for split tunneling
I currently have multiple subnets, and adding every single host I'd need a split tunnel is impractical. By allowing CIDR notation on the configs, we could allow 10.0.3.0/24 and have a whole slice of the network bypass the VPN.
As a plus, adding a per-network switch possibility would avoid my 10.0.1.1 (for instance) to be allowed without a VPN on public WiFi, for instance (which ties nicely to the "trusted networks" feature request)

Add 'include mode' to the browser extension's Split Tunneling feature
The desktop app has exclude and include modes for split tunneling, allowing you to use it as a blacklist or whitelist respectively.
The browser extension only has the exclude mode.Given recent changes to the internet, selectively VPNing certain websites would be extremely helpful.

Feature request – Smarter Wi-Fi-based auto-connect rules on iOS
Hello Proton team,
First of all, thank you for Proton VPN and the whole Proton ecosystem. I’m a paying user and I really appreciate your focus on privacy and on open, well-documented security.
I’m writing to request a feature that I believe matches a very common and “natural” use case for VPNs on mobile phones, especially on iOS.
Current situation
On iOS, we can use auto-connect and some Shortcuts automations, but there is no simple way to express the following behaviour:
Automatically connect Proton VPN on any Wi-Fi network, except for a few trusted ones (for example my home Wi-Fi).

More free Proton VPN countries
I'm a free plan user and I really appreciate the service you provide. Currently, the free plan offers access to 10 countries, which is great, but I'd love to see even more locations added.

Exclude unwanted countries from the list of random and fastest servers.
It often happens that in random or fastest mode, a connection is established through servers in countries that are not desirable for many people.
386 votesWill be available on Android and Windows shortly, and is part of the 2025 Spring & Summer VPN Roadmap.

VLAN/Lan access
It should be possible to define routes which are not routed over the VPN. So currently my wifi devices are in a dedicated vlan, if I try to connect to a different vlan then with VPN on, its not possible.

Upgraded VPN for Mail Plus Subscribers
I have been a Proton Mail Plus subscriber since 2021. As such I'm entitled to use the free version of Proton VPN. I just learned, however, non-mail subscribers can download and set up the same exact free VPN. To be clear, it appears they pay nothing for this. Seems unfair to paid mail subscribers. I would suggest providing an upgraded VPN with more features for Mail Plus subscribers; something short of VPN Plus. After all, there should be some benefit to being a paid mail customer versus a non-paying, non-customer. I recently cancelled my Express VPN subscription so I could…

Xray-core(dpi bypass protocol, in authoritarian countries)
We suggest considering Xray-core as an alternative to current VPN protocols. Due to the expanding list of countries using internet censorship. Xray, as a successor to V2Ray, promises significant improvements: higher performance due to an optimized core, support for modern protocols (VLESS, Trojan) and advanced traffic obfuscation (XTLS), which is critical for bypassing DPI and ensuring reliable access.

Split-Tunneling App List
The current implementation of Split-Tunneling is good but I ran into a problem adding XBOX GamePass Games to it because the folder permissions does not allow Proton to open the .exe Files. I tried it by adding access rights for my user and for administrators but it still does not work.
My feature suggestion: Add a list of installed or currently running apps that we can easily select for split tunneling.
Or maybe a seperate Feature to add all XBOX App/GamePass Games to the exclusion4 votes -
Auto reconnect to the same server feature after device reboot
Actually using Proton VPN on an Android TV box where the Proton VPN features are very limited.
I usually turn off completely (not standby) my device when not using it and when I turn it back on I always find the VPN disconnected. A feature where the VPN would automatically reconnect to the last used server would be much appreciated and make the user experience smooth. Thanks in advance.

SSO (single sign on) for Unlimited Accounts
It's unfortunate having to sign into the VPN with your username and password for the VPN - for some of my devices I'm using Windows or Android, where I don't consider the operating system secure.
Users should have the ability to sign into Proton VPN with single sign on from a trusted device.
For instance, I'm using Linux and GrapheneOS for relatively secure environments, but I'd still like to be able to sign into Proton VPN on Windows, for instance, without having to type in my entire email and password - Windows itself has been proven to track what you're…

Android Widget & Notification UI update for Tor servers
When you go to the 'Countries' tab on Android you can select from "All, Secure Core, P2P & Tor" options. If you select Tor, one of the options is "Fastest Country." When you connect to that, there is no indication that you're connected to a Tor server unless you either open the app or manually check your IP address.
If you use the widget on the home screen there is nothing differentiating a regular "Fastest Country" over "Fastest Country via Tor" either in the widget or the persistent notification. In regards to the widget, both use the same lightning icon.…

Improve error message when trying to connect to a VPN without NetworkManager.service
I am using Omarchy and when I installed the proton-vpn-gtk-app package and tried connecting, it displayed the generic error message "Something went wrong | An unexpected error has occured". I had to check the logs to figure out that the reason why it was failing was that the NetworkManager.service daemon was not running, because Omarchy uses systemd-networkd. Unless there's a skill issue on my end, I would like to suggest displaying a more clear error message when that happens, so the users quickly know to switch to NetworkManager if they need to use Proton VPN.

Correct Panama Servers IP Ranges Problem
Hello Proton VPN team
My best wishes for you.Recently you launched Panama Servers through of a suggestion that I send you. Now It's working wrong, because when I connect my devices in that servers, the IP address is from USA (usually from Los Angeles) instead Panama, and when I'm using my Panamanian apps automatically is detected that problem and it's impossible to use them.
Usually the IP address range that I can see when I use Panama server is like 51.179.177.21
Please help me with this problem to change to correct Panamanian IP Ranges, cause is so difficult to…

Fix Free Tier Country List: Linux/Config file Shows 10, GUI Apps Display Only 5
This request addresses an inconsistency across ProtonVPN platforms regarding the number of countries available on the Free plan.
Currently:
Linux GUI, CLI, and manual configuration files (OpenVPN/WireGuard) correctly expose 10 free countries, matching what the backend actually provides.
Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and tvOS apps display only 5 countries in their GUI, even though random connecting to all 10 is possible via backend/API.
This creates a confusing discrepancy for users and contradicts the behavior of Linux clients and manual configs.
Proton and web pages also show mixed information (some mention 5, others implicitly reflect 10), further adding to user confusion.
