Proton Docs - Add a setting for opening documents in view mode by default
Currently, when you open a document, it opens the document in edit mode by default. Ideally, users should be able to change this based on their own preference, and set a global default, and also be able to override that setting per document.
The options to choose from should be the same as the three options in the document editor - edit, suggest, and view.

PDF thumbnail previews
Display PDF thumbnails inside folders instead of just showing the red PDF icon. Currently, we have to open each PDF to see what's inside. A visual preview would really help users quickly identify the right document.

Click-and-drag multi-selection
Allow users to select multiple files or folders by clicking and dragging with the left mouse button — similar to how it works on MEGA. This would make file management much faster and more intuitive.

Ability to set the Default and custom user/identity shown in Drive and Calendar
In the Account Settings > Identity and Addresses you can set the "Display name and signature".
In reality, when using Calendar and Drive, the primary @protonmail.com gets displayed, e.g. in the fields "Shared By" and "Uploaded By" in Drive, and as the "Organiser" in Calendar.
This is not ideal and is also confusing for other people we interact with.
Worst case, the value to be displayed should be the one set in "Display name and signature", ideally we should be able to set some rules about it and be able to select the display name case by case.1 vote -

File-Syncing With(out) Dot-Directories
Rather simply; An option to exclude dot-directories. Perhaps for each directory added to be synced by Proton Drive's desktop application, there should be an option to enable or disable dot-directories for that directory's sync.
I'm trying to create cloud backups of (mostly small) programming and development projects. Directories in each project, such as .node or .vscode, which are mostly device-specific anyway, are being unnecessarily backed up by Proton Drive. The only one I wouldn't mind backing up is .git - but most dot-directories are just per-device configuration items.

Page count/current page+page break mode, doc outline feature
Show page count/current page, page breaks, and add an outline feature to navigate between sections quickly while working. The system is very limiting for writers/long content applications.

New doc type: Notion-like database
In addition to the existing text-based documents and spreadsheets (which I hope will be implemented soon), I would like to see another type of document: a customisable database view, similar to the one found in Notion.
I.e.
(1) a list / table view of items, that can be sorted, filtered and grouped,
(2) customisable items (I can add fields of type text, number, date, selection, checkbox, linked items, etc.),

music streaming
I see this has already been suggested, but music streaming like pCloud has. I'll likely go with pCloud for now, at least, but would prefer going with your company if the streaming were available. If encrypting music streams is too processor-intensive, you could give us the option to opt out of it for listening to music, maybe?

Strip All Metadata from Files Upon Upload to ProtonDrive
For enhanced privacy, please consider adding a setting in ProtonDrive that allows users to automatically strip metadata from all files at the time of upload — not just during sharing. This would include EXIF data in images, as well as metadata in PDFs, Word docs, and other file types.
The idea is to ensure that all files stored in ProtonDrive are clean of any potentially sensitive metadata (such as GPS coordinates, author info, device type, etc.) right from the moment they are uploaded — minimizing the risk of accidental exposure later.

Option to Strip Metadata from Shared Files
When sharing files through ProtonDrive, it would be helpful to have a privacy setting that removes metadata from documents or files (such as author names, editing history, etc.). This would give users greater control over what information is exposed when sharing.

Automatic upload of files to Drive in the mobile app
I have a folder on my phone, and I sync it with Drive, and all the files that have been synced are in that folder, and when I download new files to that folder on my phone, is it possible for those files to go directly to the Drive folder? An automatic upload to backup
