Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

Is there no sharing files between two different proton users?

I would like to use the ProtonDrive storage from commandline in Linux similar to sshfs, to mount the remote storage as a local filesystem. If I need to install an external utility for this, I'd like to do it with an AppImage or possibly have it baked into the protonvpn CLI.
Also I'd like to have a function to share certain folders publicly using the S3 protocol (similar to what minio does).

I uploaded a folder of a few years of tax records. There were a few failed items --- apparently because of "special characters" in the file names.
< > * : " V and I are all special characters?!?!? Ya gotta be kidding.
An original has / that ProtonDrive sees :
Get rid of that "special characters" rejection!

It would be great to be able to edit documents and spreadsheets like people can do in Google Docs.

I'd like ProtonDrive to synchronise directly with the Finder in Mac OS X in the same way as Dropbox does.

I’d like to see whole folder transfer management for IOS, from the Files App. As far as I can tell, none of the major cloud service providers are doing this. Also if the above is difficult, add support for compressed file folders as Files will create a ZIP from a folder and that is transferable. Thank you for all you do!!!

Have tried a few things and my comments thus far are:
pictures sometimes don't upload in correct orientation - so a rotate edit option for photos
uploaded several live photo items from Iphone 8 these where simple plain live photos, as well as some that had been altered on the iphone to have custom actions ex: loop, bounce
upon downloading from protondrive the actions where gone as was the option to view the live photo in its original form - the 1 second video is basically gone and is downloaded as a standard single frame photograph - not great to lose that live photo format.Upload and download speeds are great:
Upload document file was near instantaneous
Upload of a 476mb film clip was roughly 10 minutes (side note - remaining time on up/download would be nice) The upload did max my 5MB upload speed so the time may have been
bottle-necked on my end.
Downloading a 25MB photo was very fast <1 minuteAsk where to place a download beforehand, the popup to select placement after it downloads is jarring
Is the need to name the downloaded file because ProtonDrive can not see the file to use the existing name?
Is the lack of a thumbnail preview also due to ProtonDrive not being able to see the file? It downloads onto my device before I can actually see the item?
I like the downloaded file list, would be nice to have a mass/automatic clear option of uploaded/downloaded to see what is still in progress.
Upon uploading a file with a large number of items, the upload hung twice.
I found that logging out and back in reset the upload/download list. Kinda clunky way to do it, but it works.
That's it for now. Thank youP.S. the text window to write this feedback is much to small.

More storage will be great as Tresorit. 5 or 20go is really too short.

Regarding using with cloud storage as containerized app - please consider support both desktop and server users. Desktop need Flatpak, Snap, AppImage. Servers need Docker, etc containers. In another words: usability in both: via GUI and CLI.

Totally agree with cross platform support, especially Linux repo. Also at cloud storage era I kindly ask to consider to create Flatpak, possibly also other container formats like Snap, AppImage, possibly also Docker and something else.

Absolutely! I have another cloud storage with 4 TiB and it is almost full already. In cloud technologies era measurements should consider using TiB, possibly even more!

Ability for a protonmail user to send an attachment straight to protondrive without downloading first.
Keep up the great work :) -

Would love the ability to have a shared folder with another protonmail account and the ability to create a link for someone (regardless of whether they are on protonmail or not) to download a file

Need:
-Sync client for Android (including automatic upload of photos/videos)
-Sync client for Linux (that doesn't break git version control repos)
- Much more storage space at least 2TB optionIf you guys get all 3.5 of these in place, I'll switch off of pCloud immediately with at least a 1 year subscription.
On the other hand, Internxt only needs 2 x 0.5 of those things (auto-media-upload; git compatibility may already be the case, I just haven't tested that yet.) for me to switch. Plus, their distributed security model is quite compelling.
