Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

Cloud storage isn't good because it's vulnerable to hardware patches and hacking. It's not a good idea.

Would there be any possibiliy to join an open beta for an Arch linux client? At this moment my current cloud backup solution jottacloud.com is broken while maintenance of the Arch package has stopped.

Something like Google Keep
Something like Google Docs/Slide/Sheet(There is Collabora and Cyptpad/Etherpad as an open-source base)
Obviously private and secure with zero access encryption. -

I second that. I use Tresorit and after a horrible customer service experience I need a new secure drive.

Agreed, I need the ProtonDocs feature too. This should be prioritized right now because of certain time-sensitive needs to securely share resources and information. It will help Gmail users switch over to ProtonMail, and having a secure documents/notes area that allows for image/video embedding, hotlinking, and more, can also satisfy the posting needs that many Facebook and Twitter users are addicted to, thus helping to transition people off ad-based platforms.

Given U.S. legislation direction on use of encryption, a cloud storage solution from a trusted non U.S. company is needed to protect our privacy from government intrusion and ensure security from bad actors. It appears that sync.com is Canadian based but this may not be far enough from the U.S. Box is U.S. Seems a great opportunity for Proton! My wish list:
- encrypted in transit and at rest (zero knowledge)
- seamless integration with Office apps
- optional local encryption
- desktop and mobile clients
- sharing via read-only or read-write, with optional expiration -

Copy sync.com
Seriously, they are great, just sign up for a paid account, and literally rip off everything they do, the way they do it.
Don't overthink this.
/scratch that. Just buy sync.com and put your name on it. Or bundle it or something.
//I can just tell you are overthinking this.
///If I was one of your preferred directors we would be having a zoom call right now on your coming acquisition of sync.com -
