Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Proton now has Docs:
https://proton.me/drive/docs
And Sheets:
https://proton.me/drive/sheets

Can you offer us a cloud-storage like hotmail (onedrive) does?

If you guys are going into a storage solution, you gotta have two priorities that many other solutions have missed, in order to make it viable and compete Dropbox.
1- Selective Sync
2- Sync blocks that have changed, so bandwidth is saved instead of having to reupload the whole file. Also resuming sync for partially uploaded files for those with limited upload speeds.Plus ofc encryption and a beautiful mobile app

I was looking for a option where I wanted to have my little privacy with my mails and contacts and Proton Mail is providing me my own privacy .
My only suggestion is that why do we need to go to google play store to download proton application from there ? why not direct from Proton website so that we are not force to create gmail account

I subscribed to a lifetime account and was expecting to be able to use the 20Gb as I wanted. Like to be able to store important documents, family pictures, etc... in a safe place, forever.
I believe that to see it happen, we have to support and promote ProtonMail to make it grow!

I'm surprised they havent started on this as a side project or something. I mean it only makes sense.
Then again stick to a top shelf email system and doing it well rather then doing a few diff products that may or may not have problems as some have mentioned below as well.
Either way thank you for your hard work protonmail. -

It would be nice if the Proton folks could buy in heavy into Owncloud and offer a hosted Owncloud option that ties in with Protonmail. I would pay extra for this at a rate of 150% what Google charges for space, if not 200%.

Seeing as storage is roadmap, would ProtonMail consider the brillaint possibilty of collaborating with https://chwww1.confidesk.com/auth/login
It too is a Swiss company based around privacy and the bad thing is, it’s not too popular and was curious whether ProtonMail could raise funds later on to either aquire the company with its employees or collaborate with them and have it integrated into the system such as “PM Confidesk” and just add to the functionality and security.
One of the main reasons I’m suggesting this is because storage especially modern day online storage is either quite unsecure, unreliable or not as brilliantly functional as one would expect. I suppose seeing as something similar, if not the replication of such a system (Confidesk) will be due, wouldn’t it be best to avoid all the hassle of what ProtonMail did to get the email system started and rather immidiately begin adding to the functionality, security and its efficiency such as collaboration and business use. At the very least discussing it with them considering they have similar principals.

I use Mega for encrypted storage. A free account gives you 50Gb.

Or may I suggest a "notes" feature to securely store information outside of an email.

I would welcome a safe secure drive as I have so much stuff on Google/Microsoft/Dropbox etc that I'd like to just keep in one place.

I would prefer sticking to email only.

Yes good team ! Email services are the priority I would say. We all love you for this so please don't try to juggle another subject if it brings complications for you guys and would be difficult to handle by the team.

You can use most cloud storage services and even encrypt local folders, all automatically, by using Boxcryptor. Have been using it for years on Dropbox, Box, Google drive an others and have no complaints. There is a previous version still around for which I bought unlimited service at the time. It is now called Boxcryptor Classic. Look for it on their website.
Although only guaranteed to work with Windows up to V8.x, I have experienced no problems in Windows 10. Still works like a charm. -

Their TLS certificate already has protondrive.com added, so it seems that it is coming:
DNS Name: protondrive.com
DNS Name: www.protondrive.com
DNS Name: secure.protondrive.comprotonvpn.ch is also added, which means they are probably working on a VPN service as well?
DNS Name: protonvpn.ch
DNS Name: www.protonvpn.ch
DNS Name: secure.protonvpn.ch -

Please don't do this :-) Secure storage is complex topic. You don't want to get sidetracked and spread yourself thin. Focus on email. Secure storage is something Tresorit and SpiderOak do very well.
