Use of Linux is growing according to the Dutch company which supplied my desktop computer and they attribute this to a growing awareness of the security and privacy issues with proprietary OSs and growing support for the principles of FOSS. This chimes with the principles of Proton and I feel there is a need for Proton to give more weight to meeting the needs of Linux users and not just in respect of Proton Drive.

I look forward to a Proton app which allows access to all the Proton services and to a growing awareness of Proton among Linux users and a stronger association between Proton and Linux in the minds of all.

Currently paying for full tier subscription and not making efficient use of proton drive due to non-compatibility with GNU/Linux . Please add client support . If you treat security seriously the Linux client sound have been release FIRST not still waiting after windows and macOS, even a basic CLI would be fine

If you expect us to consciously select a storage solution, you can expect us to make a conscious choice of OS as well. So please, Linux client!

I have proton Unlimited, partly because i saw that Proton Drive for Linux is on the roadmap.
For a privacy focused company, Linux should be a priority!

Proton Drive is useless without a desktop client. No real security is possible outside of Linux.

A desktop client is necessary for Proton Drive being useful. A command line tool would be totally sufficient!

As of November 27th, Proton updated their blog purging any mention of a developing a Linux client. Do not purchase a premium plan unless you know what you’re getting into.

I would already be using Proton Drive if there were a Linux client. I gladly pay for Proton's much appreciated security and privacy, now using mainly e-mail. I'd rather not work around it with third party solutions. I prefer to put my trust where it is earned, and Proton has earned it!

I agree with the others here. For me it's very important to have a Linux Sync Client. When i am traveling i need my Files offline. So please bring a Linux Desktop Client.

I was really surprised when I read that there is no Linux client for Proton drive. I was just about to pay because everything else sounds very good. But if there is no real support for Linux users and you ignore all these people commenting here, then no... I mean look at the Linux communities, these are exactly the people you want to reach with "privacy by default", right? Why would you ignore them?

I am a visionary subscriber but frankly I don't know how much longer I'm going to keep paying if they keep ignoring Linux.

I don't understand why Linux support is even a question for a supposedly privacy focused open-source company. Any time they make a desktop app they should plan for Windows, Linux, and MacOS support from the start. Just like planning for Android and iOS on mobile. We shouldn't have to beg for it.

It's very important for me to be able to automate the synchronization of a Linux folder.

Why not? I have been a paid user for years and I am surprised that a client for Linux is not in your plans, I continue paying for OneDrive only because I cannot use Proton Drive on Linux, please focus on this client since it is essential.

I really want to get the proton drive but without a linux client it's literally useless for me. I need to sync files directly from my laptop to the drive and not manually upload from the browser. That's why I'm currently at another provider.

Was about to take out a Proton Unlimited subscription but this is no good to me without a Linux client for drive.

I currently use infomaniak instead, waiting for Proton to release a version for ubuntu or equivalent.
As Proton become more and more successfull, Linux is less and less considered, disapointing !

As a premium subscriber, I cannot emphasize enough how vital it is that Proton Drive gets a Linux client. It's necessary for my workflow. A large proportion of your paying customers are privacy conscious and use operating systems like Linux. Please extend an olive branch for these users with no less than 14 pages of comments supporting this move.
