Proton Drive Integration with Android Default Storage
I haven't yet found a way to set Proton Drive as a default storage location on Android within the "My Files" functionality which drives selectable save options for most file save actions. Obviously, Google Drive is available along with MS OneDrive, internal storage, SD storage and network storage. Having Proton Drive set here would make file management much easier on Android mobile.

I too cannot use this as an alternative until I can have critical files synced across multiple devices. I understand there may be reticence to open this up to apps which already sync files, but if not please put it as the highest priority for new development. Otherwise the data we pay for is just a backup and files used and modified on multiple devices cannot be stored on Proton Drive.

This is crucial feature, even if it could be enabled for specific files (or better) folders. I need it to be able to save .kbdx files and for Obsidian. I use KeePassXC on my desktop and need it to sync with my phone (where I use KeePassDX).
Frankly, I like the suite of Proton applications, but this one problem is stopping me from investing in it as it will force me to use a competitor. This seems to be a bit of a trend in this forum.
Please developors.

First of all, i fully understand that shared storage is shared, and that therefore no guarantees of privacy or encryption can be made by Proton. If this function gets hidden behind a disclaimer, that's totally understandable.
However.
It is absolutely critical for me to be able to sync a folder (not just individual files) in shared storage. I cannot open each file through the proton drive app individually, that is insanity for collections of files that belong together, like pdfs, music. I also need it to automatically back up shared data generated by other apps. Without this feature, proton drive is nearly useless to me. Especially with a linux desktop client still not being available either. -

I would need it to sync my task tool markdown files (opensource: logseq) and my music and audio books. Als for password safe files. Otherwise I can not access them from my other applications. This is really a crucial feature and would improve the experience and use of Proton Drive ten fold...

Back when I used Google Device, I used an app called "DriveSync" that added this feature kinda. I still use google drive for some folders that I don't mind being exposed but having it all in proton itself would be sick and save me so much time when it comes to my automatons.

This is one of the only reasons to even make an app. The only thing the app does at this point that couldn't be done with a web page is photo backup. App feels a bit like a stub at this point but the addition of this feature would change that.

I need this please! Why do i have to use multiple Cloud Services to sync my stuff that i want to use inside android apps to my Local folder. At least make it optional. Give me a toogle that says "I know that this is not that safe, but i want it anyways!"

This is critical and very much needed.

I'm a logseq user so I need to now the local directory of those "make available offline." I need to appoint the folder path for Logseq to start using the noting app. I think there could be a way to take care the secrecy and to allow logseq to access the local folder. Maybe there could be an exntion in logseq to hold a local key and for proton drive to allow any apps who has that key to access the local encrypted folders.
Anyway, this is really important. It is a daily life matter.

I do understand from a security perspective why cloud services will bury the folders in the root of the phone somewhere, but it should be something https://modilimitado.io/en/games that the consumer decides, I am tired of having companies decide I need some kind of nanny for security.

Perform backup tasks automatically on mobile and desktop apps.
Allow you to select folders from your device and assign a destination path on your Proton Drive.
then automatically back up any changes.
Either - one way, or two way sync.
Thus allowing you to save things such as WhatsApp backups, Obsidian files etc... -

I agree, for me it is important to have it with Obsidian synced in a local way on my android phone

This is a must have feature! Every device should have this functionality in Proton Drive!

Would be also required to use Logseq. As soon as proton implements this, I can get rid of a Syncthing client

As many mentioned, to sync Obsidian would make life a lot smoother. And this is a prerequisite.

I currently use Google Drive and the third party app DriveSync for this functionality. On my quest to ditch Google, this is a must! It's very helpful for notes apps like Obsidian

i never used onedrive photo backup because i hated how it squished all my folders into one, only once i discovered the third party onesync it became viable for me
now id love to replace onedrive with proton, but since theres no api or first party solution for that, there no way currently to run folder based sync
also, same thing for obsidian

This could be a massive feature for people trying to get out of the big tech ecosystems. For example, people using Google Keep can easily migrate to Obsidian and backup their notes by just syncing the folder with Proton Drive.
