    This needs to be implemented! It would save energy and therefore money on both ends, proton and the user.

    Without this feature, some folders synchronize very slowly and wasteful. Sometimes folders get deleted and uploaded again several times, taking literal hours to be completed.

    Yes!! I tried to import my contacts from phone but none were actually imported because none have an email address.

    You can manually create contacts without email, but even then you cannot really do anything with them.

    I would like to add contacts to calendar events, even when they do not have an email. I want to save that information to myself and do not need to notify the other persons, if that is what happens when you add contacts (i guess that is what it does but never used it yet). Contacts with email should be able to be opped out of notifying them.
