Proton SPAM
Idea:
To NOT spam advertisements to existing Unlimited PAYING CUSTOMERS through popups on your apps. I do not need to log in to my OS to be confronted with a popup advertisement for "Hey Upgrade to Duo for $$.$$ pcm" when Proton VPN starts, or have "Duo Upgrade" icons littered through the application. I only use the service for myself.

At the *very* least, don't show promotions that we are not eligible for. For example, some people already subscribed to the annual Unlimited plan are apparently getting ads for the 50% off Valentine's promotion, and we can't even get the better pricing.
I can see the value in getting special discounted promotions that we are eligible to take advantage of (though it should be an opt-in/opt-out thing for marketing) -- but showing us promotions at prices better than we are paying, when we aren't eligible to take them, is sort of rubbing our noses in it and leaves a bitter taste.
In a nutshell: (1) make all these marketing promotions opt-in/opt-out so those who don't want them can easily turn them off; (2) don't show us stuff we can't get.

"VALENTINE'S DEAL!" No. Show some respect for your paying customers. This is a breach of trust and I will absolutely ditch this service if it continues.

It is amusing - and disconcerting - to see multiple comments posted advertising things that are neither about Proton services nor an appropriate response to this thread. I reported these spam postings as inappropriate.
C'mon, Proton - you need to do better.

This is very important to me. If Proton continues to push advertising to paying customers in their otherwise clean interfaces I will have to find a new service.
