Stop being a greedy subscription-pushing enterprise
- Stop pushing Unlimited on already paying customers. Proton mail is a good product and I'm SICK of constantly being told that paying 2x a month for products I don't want is a great deal.
- Barring existing customers from black friday deals sucks. The only "deal" offered to me is to pay you more money (unlimited plan), where as new customers can get an actual deal on proton mail.
I know you aren't going to do anything about this, I just want to voice my frustration. Apparently using only one Proton product isn't good enough. Did it occur to you that maybe we don't want all of our services to be managed by a single company (a la Google)?

Hello OP, go to "all settings" and then scroll down. Im using the web browser on my PC for context. scross down to where you see the billing information. You should see a bunch of ticks for advertisements, newsletters, etc. Just untick everything you dont want to receive promotionalwise. Problem solved.

I’d add just two things:
1). Paying customers need to easily be able to opt out of some or all of these marketing messages in the apps they have already paid for;
2). Don’t show us stuff we are not able to take advantage of. If a subscriber can’t take advantage of a sale offer because they are already a subscriber, don’t show it.

It's really annoying but they have to make money somehow and if it wasn't working I'm sure they would have stopped by now.

Overall, I agree, however, your suggestion needs clarification. 👍
To expand on your suggestion;
I want to keep, therefore Renew my subscription.
I'm met with UPGRADE your subscription, GET this, GET that more expensive subscription!!
Give it a rest Advertising Dept!
Just improve the product you have aka a friendlier user experience/interface.
Personally, I despise adverts and block them using any means, Including Proton. Then to be hit with a barrage of adverts from the product I use in my arsenal of preventing adverts is (trying to be kind here) like fighting a losing battle - an uphill battle?
We had hopped for better from you Proton.
