Mac OS client for Proton Drive
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Mac OS client for Proton Drive.

This is super important to have this ability.

I've been expecting a Mac OS client for Proton Drive for a while. I need it to move all my documents from hotmail and google for good

Totally agree with Damian’s comments…
Proton has so much potential - and it’s clear we all want to support that vision of privacy - but it’s held back by a lot of silly things, mainly the integration into Mac!
Proton pass is not supported on Safari (mac’s browser)
There’s NO dedicated proton mail app on Mac
Proton Drive has zero Mac integration - (the core idea of a drive is it should be useable like one.)
Calendar integration is lacking.
Overall I purchased the ultimate tier and I’m happy to pay for development of that privacy goal, but in the meantime I find myself unable to use any of these services to their fullest;
Instead of protonpass I stick to 1Password (which works in safari and has vault sharing)
Instead of protondrive I stick to pcloud (which has full integration into the file system)
ProtonMail is usable on iPhone but can’t we just get a dedicated Mac app?
ProtonVPN is solid on Mac, but the rest are missing OBVIOUS usability features or functionality (like standalone programs).
Don’t take it as negative feedback, but rather as CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM… we all want the Proton ecosystem to be amazing but in your push you are leaving behind very simple basic functionality which hampers wider adoption!

Proton Drive is essentially useless without the ability to sync to/from the OS filesystem. SMBs (especially technical and creative types who are personas most likely to consider proton) are more likely to use Mac than large enterprises - proton's services are more likely to be purchased by individuals and SMBs than large enterprises. Porting the functionality to Mac is not as big a job as building the functionality for the first time (which you've already done for windows) - hire a developer with knowledge of Mac OS FS for 3 months and it will be done. Get a grip on reality, as these silly product decisions continue to frustrate the hell out of people... I have my personal accounts on a proton visionary plan but I've been trying to move my business from Google to Proton for (literally) several years now, and I just cannot do it because of these types of issues (calendar was another frustration).
Does anyone from Proton actually bother to read this "User Voice" feedback? -

In order for any application to become successful, it must integrate with the OS for customer experience. The current manual upload via https is not user friendly and the Windows App (I installed Parallels Desktop to overcome the shortfall of the Mac OS client) won't run on ARM processors, leaving us Mac users out in the cold.

I would like to use my Drive space to maintain a backup of my hard drive. It seems that the most user friendly way to do this is through a client with syncing at the drive/folder level. I am currently using Amazon, but they are outmoding it and I need a replacement. I don't want to use Google or Microsoft or Apple or DropBox. Please give us another option that is private.
