Support older macOS versions
Currently, the Proton Drive app for Mac is only compatible with version 13 of macOS (Ventura). However, many Mac users operate older versions and may be unable to upgrade due to hardware constraints (older Macs). From an environmental standpoint, it should be able to keep one's computer for as long as it works, and not be forced to trade up just to be able to access a new feature...

Yes, PLEASE! I'm running High Sierra and can't upgrade without a system collapse. Please please create a backwards-compatible version!

Using Mac OS 11.7, won't switch from my current tools until maybe another year since there aren't Proton Legacy Apps available to download.

There's not a better Mac (IMHO) than the 2015 Macbook Pro. Newer versions are fatally flawed and I do not want to upgrade until there's something better. I would VERY much appreciate if you would make the app compatible to MacOS v.12.

Monterey, par exemple, n'est pas si vieux !!!

Well older computers are going to be useless in a VERY short time. The world is moving to quantum and whether you like it or not you will have to upgrade your technology. Keeping a 10 yr old computer and expecting to maintain compatibility is insane.

This is quite insane that this is still not available. I'm stuck on Monterey and an intel mac so I agree with everyone here we need this asap

Please make it available for older MAC OS!

Just adding my two cents. I agree with everyone here.
I love Proton and all it stands for, so I sprung for the family package and convinced my partner and parents that it was a great idea and we could use Proton Drive instead of Google. All four of us are on perfectly good macbooks in the 2013-2017 range and none of us are using OS 13.
Please please please take this request seriously!

Have reached the limit of compatible software upgrades--OS 11--but have no need to update. Mr Thomas comments touch one of the core problems faced by technology and modernity and goes against the essential principle that Proton states as a core belief-- digital freedom.
"...The application of planned obsolescence to thought itself has the same merit as its application to consumer goods; the new is not only shoddier than the old, it fuels an obsolete social system that staves off its replacement by manufacturing the illusion that it is perpetually new."

Really want this to happen. I'm on a 2016 macbook pro with touch bar. It runs fine, and in fact I used to have OneDrive on it and no issue. I've become a Visionary user because Proton aligns perfectly with my own values and I would LOVE to use Drive on my Mac. Please make it happen :)

My comment on X:
It’s disappointing to learn that Proton Drive only works on macOS 13+.
Astute users have not updated to later macOS versions because of its declining software quality, snitchy behaviour and UNETHICAL actions from Apple itself. Please fix this.

So glad to see other people asking for this! I pay for Proton because I heartily believe in the company's privacy focus, however I am disappointed in this. I have a 2012 Macbook which is the last one before they started soldering all the parts in, running Catalina like Mark. I want to keep this going for as long as possible because it's greener to do so and because it works perfectly fine! I really want to move away from google and dropbox, please solve this compatibility issue so I can!

Same for me I am running 11.7.10 the most efficient OS for my 2012 Imac and it will update to 13, however the 13.OS has problems with my hardware, this being an Apple incentive for you to purchase a new model. This being the case I downgraded to Big Sur being the last supported model of the OS to run on my hardware. This is also why I keep My QNAP NAS running as the key preference for my data both locally and remotely while also being able to securely encrypt the data

This is why I do not pay for Proton. Why choose to limit to some OS versions when it would be just as easy to develop with support for older too?

I have a 2012 Macbook Pro working perfectly on MAC OS Catalina and it is not upgradeable to anything later.
However, in a world where we're bombarded with "Green" issues, being forced to upgrade a perfectly usable device just to access the latest, albeit not earth-shattering, sync app is frankly despicable.
In addition, many will never upgrade to a later OS until much later than it's release, as to be on the latest version is a risk in itself, especially to the security conscious.
Whichever way you slice it, this is very poor from Proton.
P.S. Google Drive works flawlessly on this machine

I have a 2014 mac mini which still works well and runs fast, macOS 12 is the highest I can go though.

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro, macOS 13 cannot be installed on it (Apple's stupid limitation, they support 2017+ models). It's a perfectly good laptop that I intend to keep for a number of years and should be able to use Proton Drive with.
Dropbox and Google Drive work just fine on this machine...
