Photo Albums, tagging, location search
Albums, photo tagging, search by location for Proton Drive Photos.
Pretty much like Google Photos, but encrypted. Probably without the automatic classification since that would require you to see my photos :D
With today's addition of Albums into Proton Drive, some of the requested features have already been completed, with more already being announced as part of our future plans and development.
As Albums on Proton Drive develops, the rest of your photo-album related feature requests will make their way! In the meantime, please make use of the feature and help us develop it further starting today!

I'm currently a free user, but if Proton Drive had a proper Google Photos alternative, I would definitely sign up for the 500GB plan, possibly even the family plan.

This would be amazing. It would also put Proton Drive/Photos a step above Sync.com.

In the mobile app I can select which albums to backup on Proton drive. When saved to Proton drive the photos should stay sorted into those albums.
Additionally, being able to create share links to those albums would be good as well.

Server-side albums is an essential feature that should have been there _before_ enabling sync of phone albums other than the camera roll. Right now, the backup becomes a disorganised mess if I select any of my other albums for backup.

First the file details (tag, location, filename e.t.c.), photo album and photos classified from protondrive android app on the device will have to be encrypted on the device with symmetric encryption method and uploaded to protondrive server, then The search word can be searched by encrypting it with the same symmetric encryption key.
Thus, keeping end to end encryption, the photo file is searched in protondrive like Google Photo. -

A true, user friendly, encrypted way to create shared photo albums with family and friends, as an alternative to Google and iCloud Photos.
All people that the album is shared with would be able to add photos to it and every member of the album would receive a push notification that a new photo has been added.
