Synology NAS Cloud Sync
I miss the capability to connect my ProtonDrive with my Synology NAS by CloudSync or Hyper Backup. This would be one of the last disadvantages compared to conventional cloud providers

I cannot believe that Proton is staying silent on this feature request. Wake up guys, this is something we as Proton users have been asking for years now

This is the one feature that is preventing me from going all in with Proton. I am stuck now with Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive. I want to go Europe. Please make this happen!

For the time being the only more or less convenient way to combine hyper backup with proton drive seems to be cloudslinker (if it works...), which I do not trust. And trust is the most important argument why I decided to buy into proton.

New to Proton Drive, long time Synology admin. My workaround:
1- Setup Proton Drive folders on my Mac.
2- On Synology I created a Proton Drive share and configured it as a Synology Drive Team Folder.
3- On my main Mac I configured the Synology Drive software to do a continuous backup job of the local Proton folder to the Synology share.
4- My Proton Drive now stays synced with my Synology which I backup to C2. I could even do a Cloud Sync to another service if I wanted.Synology Drive Client Sync Task won't connect to the local Proton Drive folder but the backup tasks do. Not perfect but you can backup to your nas if you want.

Agree an option to have backups from on-prem to cloud or cloud to on-prem

The posibility to use protondrive as a of site backup (next to searchablle mails) would be one of the last steps fot me to switch and start paying for proton.

As I am a proton unlimited user, I wanted to make use of some synergies to divert my synology backup into proton drive, which, as per today isn't possible at all. Not sure, whether this to be a problem of Synology, allowing only a limited number of 3rd parties to connect, or Proton itself. My impression is it is with Synology. However, are there any plans to provide connectiivity to synology NAS?
The reasons I am trying to achieve this are obvious: data is going to be more secure in swiss based proton servers on one hand and reduction of storage cost on the other, once I could achieve this. Thanks for consideration. -

Hi,
As part of Make Europe Great Again (MEGA) I use Europe based solutions or non USA.
And I Also have a Synology NAS. I use synology drive (as replacement of dropbox) and make my backup in the C2 cloud.
But I have also proton drive (as part of the package deal).
But for me and i think many others this is kind a bit useless when i cant link it to my hyperbackup.
I really hope this gets higher on the priority list!
Greetings

I'm keen to stop using google for my small business but like many small business' I rely on a synology NAS.
Please add native drive support to synology NAS, this is the only thing stopping me and others from migrating over.
Also an official drive app for linux. -

This is the most important feature missing from any Proton product in 2026. Not being able to have backups breaks the entire data resiliency model. It kills me that we still can't do this- this was on the roadmap for years and never materialized.
