Table of Contents :: Proton Docs
Thanks for making Proton Docs!
Will you please add a button to toggle a floating table of contents to the left side of a document that is being viewed or edited?
Ideally, the TOC would show the headers of the document that would scroll to that part of the document when clicked. This would be similar to the feature in Google Docs. Additionally, a config option for it to set how many headers deep it would show would also be helpful.
Thanks again!

Totally. Also, the ability to link headings like you can do with normal markdown would be greatly appreciated.

This is critical. I need to be able to handle long documents and change the order of chapters. And I really really want Proton to be a relevant alternative, but without this I'm going to get very frustrated. It's like moving decades backwards in time.

I'm creating guidance documents and really hurting for a way to quickly navigate a longer document.

YES. This is important.

It's insane that it still hasn't been added. I keep going back to either Google Docs or Notion because of this feature. It's so hard to parse through the long document without it.

It's critical, and even better if the exported PDF can have the same outline too

This is essential for both document usability and accessibility. Once table of contents are available I will fully migrate from google to proton. Without TOC, documents longer than a few pages are essentially useless and very inaccessible. Please prioritize this update! It's also essential for collaborative projects.

Very much needed for long document, or at least table of contents (of headings) can be inserted to top of document

Copied a google doc into proton. All the links in the copied TOC refer back to the g doc that I want to delete BUT NOW CAN"T b/c Proton doesn't have this feature :{
At least NextCloud has a sidebar index. -

Please implement a toc - it's essential and without it it's very hard to entirely switch from Google Docs. Thank you so much in advance

Agree with need for heading outliner similar to Word, but I think Google Doc's take on it (tabs) is even more useful.

Yes, please! Even for small documents, this is critical. Would like to see both the outline as a sidebar and be able to link to headings and jump to those headings within the document.
Thank you so much. Super stoked to check out the new sheets feature!

I would like to move all of my docs to Proton, but I can not do this without this feature. My documents are huge, and it's necessary for navigation.

This feature has been proposed already. There are votes lost as a consequence.

I work with longer, structured, documents, so having a navigation bar like in Google Docs, Word or Dropbox Paper is essential.

I agree this should be a feature. I use this functionality in google and lark docs and is sort of essential if you collaborate a lot on a larger document.

The addition of this would fully convert me to Proton Docs! I make huge docs that really need a TOC and internal linking.
