Table of Contents :: Proton Docs
Thanks for making Proton Docs!
Will you please add a button to toggle a floating table of contents to the left side of a document that is being viewed or edited?
Ideally, the TOC would show the headers of the document that would scroll to that part of the document when clicked. This would be similar to the feature in Google Docs. Additionally, a config option for it to set how many headers deep it would show would also be helpful.
Thanks again!

I need this TOC feature for so many documents. Prioritizing this would be great. Thanks.

I make documents with lots of chapters, which I use headings for. There should be an outline or heading select to more easily navigate the document.
Also, when hyperlinking text, I should be able to link to a header in that same doc so I can make my own table of contents (so people reading .pdf can also navigate easily). Finally, it'd be nice if we could save our own custom heading styles in some way.

This would be so helpful - I'm using proton docs but have to switch to google for complicated documents. Would really love to finally switch 100% to proton.

And the ability to create a URL that jumps to a specific heading in a doc!

I would like proton documents to be able to have title and headers that can be navigated via a table of content. This is a very important capability! 🙏👍

I use headers to organise my documents and need this to easily navigate through them. Please implement this.

Very much need this for my co-op business to transfer over from google docs. We have so much complex documentation where you have to have a readily accessible table of contents to jump to different sections.

Proton Docs is useless to me without this feature.

this is a pretty basic feature, markdown editors like HackMD have it by default, this should not be a big deal to implement afaict

yes please. I agree with anon, 2nd Sept. Proton Docs will not be useable for longer docs without adding this feature. Enables navigation and reveals structure of docs

Very important for structuring longer documents (both for the writing and reading). Especially important for documents being written collaboratively. Word and Google Docs both have this feature - and when using those, I use them all the time.

Hello there,
Looking for a safe google docs alternative.
I can't make the switch until I have a table of contents, like the document tabs in google docs.
Thanks for hearing us out !

I heavily use Proton Docs.
However, when a document gets larger, navigation within the document is a real pain.
My request: add a sidebar or something similar that is structured by headings and allows quick navigation within a document (similar to Navigator in Word like a ToC). -

At least a clickable TOC (optionally maybe) inserted at beginning of document.

yeah, essentially not possible to keep or collaborate on large documents in proton docs w/o good navigation
