Organize Photos
It would be great, and frankly necessary, feature to be able to organize photos:
To be able to filter and preview with different criteria (Assigned album, location, device, etc.), and not only to see them listed by date.
E.g. Add a button/slider like - Exclude pictures assigned to Albums from Photos. So a user can easily filter "unassigned" photos. - If I assign photos to an album, I know where to find them - Current setup is confusing because I don't know if I added all of the photos I want to an album. When backing up folders from mobile device, it would be great if we could mirror the organisational structure.
E.G. If the photos on a mobile device are already sorted in "Albums" and "Group Albums", we should be able to see the same structure in Proton Drive without re-creating it manually. (Basically just copy Samsung Gallery or similar organisation)Being able to link Albums in Proton Drive as a folder - One you can open and manage as any other, maybe add a special icon.

Essential. I tried to create an album of just JPG images from just a day from my phone (which also shoots raw at the same time.) Had to manually sort them.

I need this badly. I transferred everything when i made the switch from google drive to proton and this app is pretty much useless for photos. Google drive had a search function, private album with a password, and it was smooth for the most part. About all I can say about Proton drive in its current state is that i know all my pictures are somewhere. cool. but I can’t go in and search for anything or organize my pictures the way i want.

If this doesn't come in the future, I will have a big mess to sort out what's in an album and what not. I'm sorry to say, but just make it like Onedrive...

This!!! This is THE MOST annoying issue that i have with proton drive. Uploading your photos - sure thats cool. but not being able to see wich photos i have already added to an album is insane. how are you supposed to effectively organize anything this way??

I agree, and would like to add:
1. Be able to list only photos, not including videos. The reverse is possible (e.g. view only videos, not including photos) in the "Videos" tab.
2. Be able to list and sort photos and videos by file properties like name, created date, size, etc.
3. Search photo metadata like coordinates. I mean, I can see on my uploaded photos (Apple .HEIC format) in Proton Drive photos under Advanced "Location":{"Latitude":59.25687,"Longitude":15.19217}. It would be great to be able to search on that, e.g. search on "Paris" and get all photos from there. Or see a map with all my photos plotted on the right location.

I have currently 20,568 photos uploaded. Between the time it takes to simply display the images and the sheer number of them mistakenly date-stamped as from yesterday, the main "photos" tab is useless. The first, critical point of order imho is the setting to get rid of pictures from albums in the main Photos tab. Also, I even haven't finished uploading... Thanks in advance. Back to uploading now.

It should be helpful to can filter the images shown by different criteria. For example, for me it would very helpful to show images that are not currenty included in any album, because sometimes I delete some images from some album and later I would like to locate the ones still not included in any album.

Also throwing my bit out there for having a "not in an album" default filter/category would be great for organization!

It would be good to have dates as well as showing the month.

For me, it would also be very important that I can move photos into folders on proton drive. I don't want to make albums, my photos are sorted in folders as these are universal. I have already recreated albums after switching photo storage folders three times, and I'm not going to do it a fourth time. I don't necessarily need proton photos to recognise my previous structure in the photo app part, I just want to be able to store photos in normal photos while still using the automatic upload.

Please can we have the option to add to album and delete when we click on the photo.
Most of my photos in the photo page only seem to display as a generic thumbnail (I've got thousands of photos and now I have to click on the photo to see what it is and then go back to add it to an album or delete it - it's far too time consuming to do this. -

For the love of all pizzas in the world! Sort backed up photos by folder! If the photos are uploaded from the "Camera/DCIM" folder, upload that folder. If a photo is uploaded from the "Screenshots" folder, upload that folder!
Just dumping everything in ONE spot is mildly infuriating imo... I do not want to be forced to organize over a thousand photos/pictures AGAIN when they're already sorted just fine on my phone.
And also, where do the backed up photos go? My phones been backing up photos for the past hour but nothing is yet to be visible in the desktop/Windows explorer 🤷♂️

I think it is critical that you can exclude images from "all" when they are added to an album.

How about sending photos from one album to another. I have over 20k photos. I can't be trying to find it in the main screen to put it in an album...

#2 in the original idea is most important for me - all my photos are already in albums (folders), whether on my phone, PC or in Proton Drive Files and I just can't face having to manually recreate all the albums in Proton Drive Photos!

+1 for Koen, sorting alphabetically, should be very simple to realize, and useful, especially on mobile device (iOS) the album list is very inconvenient to browse

To be able to choose "not in any album" view is so much needed!

When adding a photo to an album, it would be great if one could pick photos specifically from an existing album or photos not assigned to any album.

It also allows you to insert a description in photos, as Google Photos and Mega Gallery do. Like, Maria's birthday.

+1 to "Having the ability to see which photos are not assigned to an album would be awesome."
