sheets
Hello Proton Team,
I am writing to submit a feature request regarding Proton Sheets and its integration with Proton Drive.
Currently, there is no way to save or sync Proton Sheets files directly into folders that are locally replicated on a computer via Proton Drive. This creates unnecessary friction in workflows that rely on offline access or local processing.
At the moment, the only workaround is to manually copy a sheet into a standard directory and attempt to download or convert it. However, conversion frequently fails with permission errors, even when the user owns the file. This makes it impossible to reliably use Proton Sheets in environments where local file access is required.
It would be extremely valuable to:
- Allow Proton Sheets documents to be saved directly into locally synced folders.
- Enable proper export or automatic local conversion (e.g., to .xlsx or other compatible formats).
- Ensure that file owners retain full export permissions without unexpected restrictions.
For users who rely on hybrid workflows (cloud + local processing), this limitation significantly reduces usability and efficiency.
Proton’s ecosystem is strong, but practical interoperability with local systems is essential for professional use. Adding this capability would greatly improve adoption in technical and enterprise environments.
Thank you for considering this request
Please stick to one idea per request.
