Since you are rebuilding so much around Drive, please consider adding a basic and simple feature: PAUSE.
Like the current "Cancel all" button, a new "Pause all" button and an individual "Pause" button, for each file actively being uploaded.

IMO that's a basic functionality a product like this needs to have.
Why? A simple and basic use case: I upload a large file, half way I want to do something that requires my whole bandwith or best latency (which uploading a full speed affects -because I can't limit it-). Now I can either cancel -wasting what I've already uploaded- or pospone what I want to do, which is crazy.

Maybe you thought with today's internet speeds this is not necessary, but not everyone uploads 3MB photos or has 1gbps upstream.
