Automatic file backup on Android (for documents/files)
Photos already auto-backup, but documents and other files still need to be uploaded manually. Please add automatic file backup for Android — let users select folders to sync in the background.
This matters. If someone loses their phone, gets robbed, or the device breaks, those files are gone. Manual upload means people forget or delay, and by the time something happens, it's too late.
Would really help make Proton Drive a true Google Drive replacement.

@Nicholas Duff if it's anything like the protonmail bridge situation it may be a non-starter, which is unfortunate. Proton would become a proper google challenger if they more deeply integrated with the AOSP service interfaces (calendar api, contacts provider, backup, etc). A lot of these things rely on google mobile services so I can imagine it's a very non-trivial ask.

I think allowing Proton Drive to become something users can add to the "Accounts and backups" tab within the android phone settings and allow us to use the service to backup the phones fully would enable us to get away from Google Drive entirely.
