Tool in Drive
It would be good to have a tool (manager) in Drive that allows you to filter out duplicate documents or photos, and perhaps delete them as well. This would save a huge amount of data and also make it much more user-friendly.

+1 for this. Duplicates are one of the biggest sources of wasted space, and they’re hard to spot by hand once a Drive has years of uploads. I’d suggest matching on file hash rather than just filename, since copies often get renamed (“scan_final”, “scan_final_2”). A preview step before deleting anything would also be important, ideally with a “keep newest” option.
Paperwork is where I notice this most. Every year I end up with several copies of the same payslips, invoices, and tax forms from re-downloading and re-scanning them. While sorting my records for filing, I used https://calcolatorefiscale.it/ to check a few figures, and it made me realize how many duplicate versions of the same documents I was keeping. A built-in duplicate manager would make that cleanup much easier.
