Problem
Currently, browsing large folders containing photos in the Proton Drive iOS app is very slow.

The following issues occur consistently:

• Slow thumbnail generation
• Scrolling frequently stalls or freezes
• Opening photos takes several seconds
• Recently viewed photos are not cached efficiently
• In some cases the app becomes unresponsive and has to be force-closed

Suggestion
Improve performance for large photo collections by focusing on:

• Faster thumbnail generation
• Smoother scrolling
• Better caching of thumbnails and recently viewed photos
• Faster opening of photos after the first view

Why it matters
Many users store large photo archives in Proton Drive. Improving performance would make Proton Drive much more suitable as a daily photo archive and would encourage more users to migrate from Apple Photos or Google Photos.
