As a university student i am often working with word limits/minimums. this makes knowing the number of words my entire document, or a specfic part of it, crucial for my use-case. As is, i am often having to use external sites to view the word count. Within google docs you can set the word count to show in the bottom corner and it will relay the entire document or just highlighted sections. this is unobtrusive and works well. This would improve my user experience quite substantially for such a small feature.
