  1. macOS' finder custom Proton Drive Icon

    It would be nice to have the Proton Dive icon siting next to other cloud services in the Finder's sidebar instead of the regular folder icon. Easier to find too!

  2. More storage options 5T + and more affordables plans... maybe offering 2year subscription plans

    Please offer more storage options, at more affordable rate... maybe 2yearly plans too.. similarly to IceDrive. Their implementation as system hard drive is great too. Would love to see this feature on protondrive as I think more user would switch from Icedrice or other cloud services... For professional users Proton is just not enough for the price.

    As a Proton Premium user with more than 5 domains using mx.proton and mx.simplelogin, I appreciate the new folder sharing feature in Proton Drive that allows others to upload files. However, I am facing a challenge as I cannot change the email address of the folder owner. This becomes less practical when I need to share with clients using an email address from a different domain. I hope Proton can consider providing users with the option to change the email address, given the interconnectedness of the Proton and SimpleLogin ecosystems.

  5. Select folder not to sync to machine

    I use proton drive to store my files and to make it easier to manage them I download using the sync feature, but there are some specific folders that I don't want to be available on my machine. Would be nice to have this option on the sync software.

  6. Propagate HEIC preview from "photos" to "my files" & "computers"

    Currently, the photo backup option in iOS works correctly and backed up photos are previewed just fine in the web portal. But, for some reason, when this same photos are uploaded to "my files" or "computers", the HEIC preview is not available. I guess it's a pretty quick fix to enable that preview in those sections too, since it's already working on the photos section. Thanks!

  7. Proton Docs: Option to stop automatically converting dashes to bullet points

    I am excited for Proton Docs and I wanted to migrate my document off Google Drive and onto Proton but I haven't found an option to stop bullet points from being created from a dash followed by a space.

    Most of my documents are creative writing, which means every line of dialogue is basically being turned into a bullet point, rendering Proton Docs pretty much unusable as it is for me.

    I wish there was a way to disable this behavior or at least have a bullet point option that uses the dash symbol '-' in addtion to the circle,…

  8. Ability to control spacing

    Ability to control spacing - single space, double, space, 1.5 space, etc. Proton drive is unusable to me without that ability.

  9. Separate public links for editor and viewer access

    With the addition of collaboration with users without Proton accounts, I'd like to see the option to generate two separate public links:

    One with viewer access (safely shared with anyone)
    One with editor access (shared with trusted contacts)

    For example this could be used for a community of people where the general public needs to be able to view a document, but only a few select members needs editing access, without a Proton account.

  10. Proton Drive Audio File Quality Of Life Support

    Hello Proton Friends,

    I am a producer/musician and I use Proton Drive mainly for storing and securely sharing links to MP3/WAV files that I upload. The preview functionality for audio files as is works just fine. It plays the mp3 from start to end in a high quality way. However, I often find myself having to re-open my phone, and I have to scrub back to the beginning of the audio file in order to replay it.

  11. HTML viewer - open HTML docs in browser window

    HTML files saved on drive, currently open in raw code view, which is very unhelpful. HTML documents by default universally open in a browser window. I request support to view HTML documents in a browser window be added to proton Drive features

  12. Option to have PC and photos folders be a tag instead of a separate directory.

    I upload photos and files from different locations/devices, and it's frustrating that when going through them, I have to check multiple locations. It would be better if proton had its own metadata that it used so that I could sort by uploader or file type, rather than having to check the photos location, files, location, PC location, and my laptop location anytime I want to find things. At the very least there should be a view all option, so that any functionality of discrete locations is not lost and files/photos could be sorted through as though they are in one…

  13. Sending "Share" Invite/Link with one of the "second" Mail-Addresses instead of Main Mail-Address/Account for privacy reasons

    When I want to share some documents on my proton drive with external People/Contractors it sends it with the alias and address of the "Main" Proton Account/Mail. I would like to have the option to send the Invite/Share with one of the second Mail-Addresses/Aliases I have access to for privacy reasons. I don't want to compromise my Main Account/Address/Alias just to share some files.

    In PDF Preview inside Proton Drive it is possible to add Markup to the PDF. But saving those changes works only by downloading and re-uploading.

    It should be possible to save changes directly to Proton Drive.

  15. Remove local sync data from computer when user signs out of drive on the device

    When you sign out of Proton Drive on a local computer, Mac or Windows, the synced copies of the files remain unencrypted on your local disk.

    There are three simple use cases here that could be facilitated by options on the sign-out page.

    1. Securely remove all data from the local disk
    2. Encrypt the locally stored data until the user signed in again
    3. Leave the data as is, open and insecure - the current behaviour.

    This would allow the user to choose how their data is handled when signing out.

  16. Sync to external ssd on Mac

    Proton uses Apple API which does not support syncing external SSD on Mac OS. This makes it basically useless for all of those with collections of flies on external drives.

  17. Control how often a Proton document auto-saves

    Editing a long Proton doc is becoming impossible because it auto-saves so much that it becomes unusable and lags.

    Is it possible to control the auto-save settings so that it only autosaves every (e.g.) one minute rather than after every keystroke. It's not a problem for small documents but it is for bigger than 8-10 pages.

  18. Share-Icons that show password protection and expiry date

    Currently, an icon only lets the user know if a file or directory is currently being shared.

    It would be awesome to enhance the icon a bit (e.g. with a little clock in the corner of the icon) if the user set an expiry date for the folder. This way I do not have to click on the icon and then on the settings icon in the dialogue to check if it is set.

    The same can be done for password protection: Adding a little padlock quickly lets the user know that a password has been set for the shared…

  19. Show backup status in Proton Drive App

    In the "My Computer" tab of proton drive, I'd like to be able to see the progress of each folder's sync. It could be a percentage or a fraction view, showing the number of gb transferred vs gb left.

    Also, having more options for syncing would be preferred as well such as the ability to pause computer sync to allow items in the sync folder to sync ("My Files") or being able to set the batch size from 4 to something larger (for example when transferring many small files)

  20. Better android app PDF viewer

    Currently in the Drive android app you can read PDFs stored on your drive but the reader lacks features, mainly the ability to quickly go to a page or scroll fast. Currently, if you want to read page 100 of a PDF you will have to swipe 100 times which is quite unpractical. Adding a button to go to a specific page by entering its number or a slider that lets you scroll through the whole PDF by sliding it on the length of your phone screen (like in adobe's acrobat reader) would help a lot.
