Support .tiff (Tagged Image File Format) preview in Photos
Currently there is no support for .tiff files in Proton Drive photos, adding a support for that seems important because it is very popular amongst graphic artists, the publishing industry, and photographers.

Improve preview speed of document
I find that Proton Drive is the best in the market in my preference. But I'm using it to deliver project to my client. The slow speed to preview, especially video and photos, makes it almost impossible to make my client happy.
Please do something, we need Proton.

Mark added folders with a special icon
In Windows, change the icon for added folders, så that it is clear that those folders are backed up by Proton Drive.

Select AND view photos
Weeding out a bunch of photos is easily done be selecting multiple photos and clicking delete. Nice.
But as you are selecting, it would be really nice to be able to open a photo for viewing. Currently you cannot view a photo if any are selected.
I would very much like to be able to open a photo for viewing while having a selection, and having the selection retained while viewing the photo. Maybe even having the option to add/remove the currently viewed photo to the selection.
This would also be very helpful when selecting for an album.4 votes -
Photo Sync - Customizable time table
Currently, Proton Drive (Photos) allows users to back up their photos, including over mobile data, and specifically select where they are uploaded from. But, daily, many users take pictures or screenshots to send to friends and family only to delete them minutes later. Or, take multiple pictures of a single event just to pick out what they like the most and delete the rest. If users don't go into their photo backup regularly, it can be swamped with tons of pictures that users need to parse through and get rid of.

Sharing .vcf cards - Unpleasant UI experience
- When sharing a .vcf contact file via Proton Drive, the preview page expands the entire vCard text, making it hard for non‑technical recipients to locate the download button.
- Desired behavior: Show a generic file‑icon with a prominent “Download” button (similar to how PDFs or images are presented), or automatically trigger a download for pure data files.
- Impact: Improves usability for sharing contacts, event invites, and other vCard‑based data with friends, family, or business partners.

It is a security flaw to have to make a share document link public without being able to set the password and expiration date first.
It is a security flaw to have to make a share document link public without being able to set the password and expiration date first. This is a very important feature for your privacy-focused target audience, so it doesn't make sense to hide it in the settings and FORCE the user to make their private data public during the set up phase. It should be on the share screen and very obvious. In fact, you can make a whole separate option so that it is mutually exclusive with the publically accessible link toggle.

Fix: When replacing selected text in docs, more text gets deleted than was selected
Maybe it depends on the operating system or browser, but on both my devices (PC and android), I'll select text I don't want anymore. Then I'll type in new text to replace it. But instead of only replacing what I selected, it deletes some extra text that I didn't have selected. So I lose words. If I hit Undo, I might forget the new idea I replaced the old text with. If I don't hit Undo, I forget the words that I didn't want deleted, but which got deleted. This still happens after reinstalling the app and restarting my phone.…

Open and Save with external app, not rename to "file (1).txt"
Currently on Android we can only Send (makes a copy) but neither Save or Save As (over original) works for even a basic Text File. Since last century we've been able to overwrite/alter without cumbersome deletion of the original file first.
Thanks heaps for the integration with Android Files, but it only half works...2 votes -
Do not rename photos
Sometimes I save my android pictures with a USB cable and sometimes with Proton Drive. When I want to be sure there is no photo forgotten I paste all the proton saved photos in my Windows folders again, but since Proton changes automatically the photos' names, it becomes a mess with many duplicates. Do you really need to change the file's name? Why not keep the original name ?

Add to album list order
It's not clear what's the order in the "add to album" list from a selected photo. It should be by name, or better to be selectable (date, alphabetical...) or searchable with a text box.

Proton Sheets - edit chart axis range
In Proton sheets, when I make a chart out of my data, the Y-axis always starts from 0. However, if all my values are in the thousands, this is unnecessary and hides the differences between my values, as they all look similar in this zoomed-out view. So, I would like to edit the range of the chart axes by setting min and max values to my liking.

Async changing folder
When a user move multiple documents to another folders, the user needs to wait until all documents are moved wich can tak more then 30 seconds.
As a user I want to wait inder the 3 seconds when moveing document to another folder. Is it possible to do a Async request of changing folders so that the user can continu using the app?

Option/simple setting for all files to be online only
I would like to be able to set my Proton Drive on my Mac to have all files accessible online only. I constantly find that files have downloaded to my Mac, reducing my disk space, even when I have not opened up the file in the Proton Drive.
I have tried to correct this numerous times by going through every file and setting them individually to online only, but this setting does not "stick". It would also be good to be able to set directories online only on a case-by-case basis.1 vote -
.XLSX files - duplicate files / read-only
When opening an existing .XLSX file within Proton Drive, this creates a (1).xlsx file. Ideally it would open and update the existing file, otherwise it will continue to generate multiple duplicate files (1).xlsx, (2).xlsx, etc. Alternatively, an option to open as a read-only version here (for original uploader) might be helpful.
