1. Tags to organize files several different ways in Proton Drive

   I know this idea has been posted previously. Being able to organize Files & Folders several different ways using Color Coded Tags would be a MAGNIFICENT improvement of PROTON DRIVE.
   By using tags, and the ability to use SEVERAL tags on each File and Folder, Proton Drive would become a magnificent, user friendly file storage system.

   I would amend previous suggestions by stressing the importance of being able to:
   1) Use several Tags on each File or Folder
   2) Color Code the tags
   3) Choose Custom Made Colors in addition to standard Colors, which is something that ProtonMail also could use
   4) Combine Tags in Groups, thus quickly and easily setting up a customized access to Files & Folders, thus making Files & Folders easily accessible for certain specific Project one is working on. Such Groups could then be deleted after a Project is ended, without messing up the original Tags.
   5) Combine Shapes and Colors on Tags, thus expanding greatly the ways Tags could be used to distinguish Files & Folders from each other.

2. chance and/or move existing sync folder on local PC

   Change and/or move path of an existing Proton Sync Folder on a local PC, for example C:\User to D:\, due to shortage of disk space

3. Up- and Downloading Files - Functionalities: Resume Up-/Download, Integration of checksum

   I have already noticed several times that the upload and download was not complete or was cancelled in between. The user is not always sufficiently informed about this situation. The upload and download must therefore be carried out several times and the user is still unsure whether the data is complete.

   The upload and download process should be expanded with a function,
   - that detects cancelled uploads and downloads and resumes them continuously as soon as it is possible again. Currently, the upload or download has to be restarted. The use of Proton Drive is not convenient, especially for Internet connections with short communication interruptions.
   - A function that checks the upload and download via CheckSum or similar and thus gives the user the opportunity to check the data integrity of the transmitted data. Ideally, synchronisation should be permanently active.

   Thank you in advance for your consideration of my suggestion and the inclusion of these functions in Proton Drive.

5. Migrate From Ente

   I’m currently using Ente until the Proton photo backup feature matures a bit more (and has additional tools like being able to sync deletion of a photo from the Drive with deletion from my device). At that point, I’d like to be able to easily migrate my photos from Ente Photos to Proton Photos.

6. Make folder from PC accessible on phone files

   Currently I can't see the synced folder on PC in the phone app, it only shows the "web files". Suggestion to make PC folders and its content available in the phone app.

7. A substantive Technical Manual is required: Current support provided by DIY Q&A plus blogs is inadequate.

   Proton Drive really needs a proper technical manual, support is a basically a collection blogs and brochure style of articles how to do and fix stuff. That style of support is useful but has limitations.

   High level glossy brochures and white papers are time wasters for thorough product evaluation. If a business is going to invest money and time into a product a technical user manual is the best place to start. Home users are no different.

   The current idea of a user searching to solve a problem assumes users are asking the correct questions, that can lead to lot of user frustration by going down rabbit holes.

   Manuals usually includes things like:
   * Product limitations
   * How it works. Example: I couldn’t find any explanation in support on the importance of cloud files (aka stub files) files and how they work.
   * Things to avoid. Example: I could not find any explanation why you should avoid your ProtonDrive folder in backups. A backup app will trigger the download of everything in the PD folder.

   Generating support tickets via the app is time consuming and having a proper technical manual would reduce the workload of the service desk.

8. force synchronization

   Just like how you made it for Proton Pass. It would be really helpful if Proton Drive (Windows & Mobile) had the "Force Synchronization" option. Sometimes I am waiting for a bit longer than desired for files to synch between mobile and my computer.

9. Feature Request: Directory-Based File Routing for Proton Drive

   Hi Proton Drive Team,

   I’d love to see a feature similar to SimpleLogin’s directory-based email routing implemented in Proton Drive. Specifically, it would be great if files sent via email could be automatically organized into specific folders within Proton Drive using a directory-based email address, like random/directory@drive.proton.me.

   This would streamline file organization and make managing documents even easier.

    Allow access to Proton services, e.g. https://drive.proton.me from IPv6-only hosts. Currently, the access is not possible from my IPv6-only client (IPv4 address required).

12. Option to save document to a different folder than the default

    By default Proton Docs saves the document in the My Drive folder.

    While one can easily move the document from folder A to folder B from Proton Drive's web interface, I would welcome an option to either set a default save location (f.ex. My Drive/my_folder), or an option to move the document from within the editor similar to what Google Docs offers.

13. Detailed Disk Space Insight

    I've been exploring the storage options, and while the current interface allows me to see the total storage usage, it doesn't provide insights into what is consuming the disk space.

    I'd like to suggest an enhancement to the storage management feature. It would be immensely helpful if users could view a breakdown of their storage usage, specifically identifying the space consumption of emails and ProtonDrive. Having a detailed overview would empower users to manage their disk space.

17. Provide a simple Proton Text in addition to the implemented bloated Proton Docs

    Unfortunately is a general trend to "develop" things, to make them more and more complicated and bloated. For some reasons developers consider this "improvements". But in most of the cases they are not! On the contrary: these "improvements" only creates problems for users and not only. Since if I need an application to have a certain feature, it is a problem if that application has a hundred of other features that I do not need at all: this means a lot of more resources, bandwidth, energy, memory, time, annoyance, I have to learn totally unnecessary things, etc. And last but not least, this means totally senseless nature destruction (waste of energy).

    Now, we have Proton Docs, which is good. I wanted this feature, too. I wrote to PM asking it, but I also wrote to not do in Google Docs manner: a bloated, almost unusable idiocy. Of course, the implemented Proton Docs is almost as bloated, with a lot of "features" that I never need, and I am afraid that it will become more and more bloated as appear new "feature" requests...

    So, I have this suggestion: implement also a simple Proton TXT format in addition to the existing Proton Docs. This should be like a simple TXT file without any formatting, without URL and other support, only simple text, so that we can store simple data, notes, code... Since there are people (I think the majority) that only need this, they do not want to create complicated MS Office, LibreOffice documents, only to store text information. This TXT doc should show line numbers on the left and should have an 80 characters line length indicator bar in web editor, wich is very useful in programming and not only (but without colors (syntax highlighting), automatic indents, which again would make it bloated and prone to bugs). It must be downloadable as a simple TXT file.

    Benefits: much less doc sizes, resource usage (both for users and Proton), time waste, annoyance, etc.

    KISS: Keep it simple, stupid! It is not a stupidity...

18. Proton Doc bulk download from web app

    We can't download several proton docs at the same time from the web app. It would be nice to be able to download all the proton doc files in a folder at once and integrate them into the download requests for a parent folder. Adding an option to choose the export format would also be useful.

19. subfolder

    When selecting folders for backup, provide for selecting only certain subfolders. Then any subfolders that are system folders which are not capable of being backed up, can be taken out. This is problem there are dozens of subfolders to be backed up, but one or two other folders are system folders and can not be backed up.

20. Proton Drive VAULT / ARCHIVE area that is cloud only and excluded from all app sync operations.

    It would be desirable that a part of your Proton Drive that should only be in the cloud and not visible to the app.

    Currently the Windows app syncs everything:
    * Everything in the directories that you select is uploaded
    * Everything in the "My Files" can be accessed from desktop by cloud stubs that the app creates.

    It would desirable to be able to select what you want from Proton Drive storage to be visible to your Win desktop. This could be done several ways:
    * The app have a button with the options of syncing/not syncing your Proton Drive "My Files" with your windows desktop.
    * Proton Drive to have another storage area like "My Files called "My Vault" which is always ignored by all syncing operations.

    This download syncing of "My Files" can be prevented by giving the app a "Proton Drive Folder" that has one file it. The app complains and will not create the cloud stubs on the local Windows desktop, the directory must be empty. The upload syncing of the windows folders to Proton Drive is unaffected.

    (cloud stubs same idea as windows cloud files)

    It would be desirable that a part of your Proton Drive that should only be in the cloud and not visible to the app.
