  1. Annotations for files/directories

    The ability to tag directories and files with annotations, even if they're just limited to being very short notes, would be very useful for tasks pertaining to organizing file collections, and overall preventing long-term forgetfulness that tends to come with that (example: it's 2030 "why did I keep these files around? They look deprecated... oh, right here's a note I left six years ago reminding myself why I shouldn't delete these. Okay then.")

    Like many, I am used to Dropbox, but I know it is a weak option for online storage. I have Proton Mail, VPN and Drive and like your products. However, I am struggling to get into the habit of using Drive as it feels different from Dropbox. So I am suggesting that, without changing the Drive app, you simply put together a little help file explaining how to create a local folder on a PC or Mac that is fully sync'd across all devices such that a file placed or edited on any device is replicated across all other devices.…

  3. Clear Activity Button

    It would be nice to have a clear button on the windows app Activity screen. Currently if you want the activity list cleaned you have to exit the app and restart it which takes a while to setup/sync.

  4. Implement differential Sync

    Uploading an entire file for a small change makes no sense and wastes bandwidth for no reason. Having a Differential Sync will improve the quality of Proton Drive and make it a serious competitor on the market.

  8. multi user support for the drive app

    or access link syncronisation via drive app
    for people that have multiple devices on different security levels,

    (scenario: untrusted microsoft surface that i use for controlling a lasercutter, runs with no proper protection)
    and i would like to run my user 1 on my secure devices
    and user 2 on my home pc and the laser to synce cutting plans and other workshop stuff

  10. Password protect specific folders if sharing account.

    It would be nice to have the possibility to assign a password to a specific folder. It's a good solution if you e.g. use your Proton Drive with other family members/friends what so ever.

    I can choose to sync any folders on my Windows PC, but they don't appear anywhere in the mobile app (Android).

  12. Provide a version for Windows Server

    I ran Proton Drive for a while on Windows Server 2022. It ran fine. After an update to Server or to Drive, or maybe both, though, it stopped working properly.

    Since Proton has a number of businesses as customers, having a Server version of Drive seems like ti would appeal to those businesses.

    As part of the study of research papers and marketing document, we all need to go though a lot of unnecessary information. One of the best way to reduce such information overload is by the usage of Pictorial information storage which could be easily recalled.
    The request is to activate MERMAID diagrams in Proton and in addition, the functionality to convert a MERMAID diagram to 'Flowchart, Sequence Diagram, Class Diagram, State Diagram, Gantt Chart, Pie Chart & ER diagram'.

  19. Point-in-time recovery of files

    Some products consists of multiple files. Thunderbird mail of iPhone backups through iTunes, for example. In case of corruption, ALL files need to be restored from the SAME point in time. Recently, I had a corruption of my Thunderbird mail file system. I tried to recover it from my Proton Drive sync files, but it was way too much work going through each history files. I was lucky enough to still have my "old" way of doing backup (IBM Spectrum Protect, in that case), that allowed me to do a point-in-time restore and save my emails. Although Proton Drive is…

  20. Special characters in Proton Docs

    In Proton Docs, please add the ability to insert special characters. Think IPA symbols for us writers, translator and conlangers, and other alphabets such as Greek, Japanese, Mandarin, Cyrillic, etc.
    I love Proton Docs so far, but this feature is crucial to my daily document driver.
