1. Lumo integration with Proton Meet for accessibility (live auto-captions)

   Perhaps Lumo could be used in Meet to provide live captioning for hard of hearing/Deaf folks to be able to follow along.

   Having a meeting platform that is a) affordable/free b) accessible and c) privacy-minded would be incredible. I haven't found a single platform that meets all of those criteria well, and if you make this happen, you would be giving the world a gift. Thanks!

2. Better transparency for Lumo answer - Show Groundedness, Factuality score per answer

   Proton Lumo AI should not only be private, but also fair and transparent about its answers.
   I propose adding simply statistics to each answer derived from the metadata that is already present. E.g. a single bar going from green to red that show the likelihood of an answer being well founded (groundedness score) or something similar to a F1 score. In my opinion this matches the transparency that Proton is providing for all its products. Similar to how Proton uses Open Source code, it should also aim for maximum transparency of Lumo AI answers. This makes Lumo even better than it already is. I know I can ask Lumo to provide these statistics to me, but to make it visual using one or two metrices would be much more intuitive to work with and would make Lumo fit even better with Protons product ethics.

3. Option to pin lumo's messages in a side panel.

   Similar to how we can pin messages in Discord or how we can put bullet/pages in Logseq's side panel.
   It's kinda difficult browsing long conversations in Lumo.
   Pinning important messages would allow easy access without filling up the conversation even more.
   The side panel could be similar to the already built in chat knowledge panel.

4. Proton should train two small specialized models for Lumo

   Hey, I know Proton isn't an AI lab and training models is hard. Wishlist post, not a demand. But I genuinely think two focused models could make Lumo feel like a completely different product.

   Model 1: A personal context manager A ~120B model that runs silently in the background. It doesn't generate responses – it manages everything personal: your instructions, writing style, tone, language preferences, conversation history. But instead of naively loading a million tokens every time, it would compress and score your memory – keeping what's relevant, quietly dropping what isn't – and then brief the main model before it replies. You'd never have to repeat yourself, and your customizations would actually feel like they matter.

   And here's where it gets interesting: this model could also be how Proton finally ships memory across chats. After each conversation, it reads through what was said, extracts new preferences, interests, habits, or anything worth remembering, and stores that as encrypted memory. Proton has already hinted at persistent memory being on the roadmap – this architecture would be a natural way to build it, and doing it in-house means your personal data stays encrypted and never touches a third-party model. That's a big deal for a privacy-first product.

   Model 2: A smart router and tool-calling model A ~70–120B model with 128K context, trained specifically for orchestration. The reason it needs to be this size: routing properly isn't just picking a model from a list – it requires genuine multi-step reasoning. It needs to figure out what your request actually needs, whether it requires web search, which tools to chain and in what order, and which model is best suited for that specific task. It's similar to how ChatGPT dynamically switches between instant and extended thinking – except this goes further by routing between entirely different AI models. Smaller models just don't reason well enough across multiple steps to do this reliably.

   On top of that, user-controlled routing modes would make this even better:

   • Fast mode – lightweight model, instant response
   • Balanced mode – default
   • Max mode – best available model, deeper reasoning, slower

   That kind of control fits perfectly with Proton's power-user audience.

   Curious if anyone else thinks this direction makes sense, or if there are smarter ways to approach it.

   (Used AI to help structure my thoughts, the ideas are mine though.)

   I went down the rabbit hole of trying to create a scheduled web search on specifict topics. Lumo repeatedly told me it had automation to do this but when I tried to set it up it ended up apologising each time saying it got a bit excited but can't do what it said it could...

7. Enable Lumo to run locally

   Enable to run Lumo models locally on a computer or laptop, this would enable users to better handle private information, increace speeds (by not needing to have the data travel across the internet continuously) and reduce load on Proton servers.
   This could happen with a standalone app or integrating it with other systems such as LM Studio or Msty Studio

11. Selecting multiple tasks pressing ctrl/cmd and moving them at once

    Sometimes I have a cluster of tasks planned in a day and I move them one by one to another tim. Instead I would love to be able to press and hold CTRL while I click on these and then move them all at once keeping their relative position to each other in bulk.

    First and foremost, please allow us to express our deepest gratitude to the development team for the excellence already demonstrated in the design of Lumo. The integrated privacy features and the existing Local Mode are a testament to a remarkable commitment to user data protection.

    1. Current Context (Respectful Observation)
       We have observed that switching between Local Mode and Web Mode currently requires navigating through the privacy settings. We fully understand that this design responds to security requirements and clarity of intent, which we commend.

    2. Proposal for Contribution
       In a spirit of collaboration and service to users, we humbly suggest the integration of a dedicated switch for "Local Mode" directly on the main interface, coexisting with Web Mode.

    The goal is to make this feature as immediately visible and accessible as the "Incognito/Private" icon in modern web browsers. Rather than navigating through menus, the user should be able to activate or deactivate this secure mode in a single gesture from the main conversation screen.

    Suggested Technical Characteristics:

    Strategic Placement: A switch or icon located in the sidebar or header of the application, within immediate reach.
    Independent Page: Activating Local Mode would open an independent window or tab, creating a clear visual separation between the "Local" and "Web" environments. This isolation would reinforce the perception of confidentiality and prevent any confusion between the two modes.
    Immediate Visibility: A clear visual indicator (change in color or icon) instantly signaling the active mode (Local vs. Web).
    Ease of Use: Activation in a single click, without complex menu paths, facilitating a fluid transition according to immediate needs.
    Contextual Preference: An option to remember the last used mode or define a default mode based on the user's context.
    4. Potential Added Value

    This idea organizes projects with similar topics under "user-defined" group folders (i.e. "Politics," "Education," "Health," "Travel," etc.). However, creating groups is optional:

    1. In the Lumo interface, one tab lists the groups and a second tab lists all projects, regardless of their group.

    2. Groups can be created separately (empty folders). A group can also be created when a user creates a new project and assigns it to a group that doesn't already exist.

    3. Projects can be create with/without specifying a group.

    4. One, or more, projects can be moved from one group to another.

    5. One, or more, groups can be selected for deletion. If they contain projects, the user is given fair warning.

    6. Group folders can be sorted alphabetically.

    7. Project folders can be sorted alphabetically.

    8. The user can "search" for a particular project.

15. Notification for Changes in Shared Calendars

    Dear Proton Support Team,

    I have been using Proton Calendar together with my partner to manage our family calendar. The ability to share a calendar and edit it collaboratively is very valuable to us.

    Issue:
    At the moment we only receive reminders for events that we create ourselves. When my partner adds a new event (even if it is scheduled several weeks ahead) or modifies an existing one, none of us receives any notification—neither a push notification nor an e‑mail. Consequently, we often discover new entries only when we manually scan the calendar.

    Desired behavior:

    Automatic notification (push or e‑mail) for all collaborators whenever another user creates a new event in a shared calendar or edits an existing event.
    Ability to filter the notification type (e.g., only for new events, only for edits, only for events that are more than X days in the future).
    On iOS, a brief banner such as “New entry from [Name]” should appear, allowing the recipient to view the entry immediately or dismiss it.
    

    Benefit:

    Prevents important appointments from being missed, especially for long‑term planning (vacations, doctor visits, school events).
    Saves time because we no longer need to scroll through the entire calendar to spot changes.
    Increases the appeal of Proton Calendar for families and teams.

16. Allow a chat to be splitted in two

    Quite often, you start from a question, then derive to another subject, so that a single chat can contain different answers to different questions. These digressions are then difficult to find back, as the title only reflects the original question.

    It would be nice, if simple to implement, to be able to split a chat into two different one, in order to have a better classification of past chats.

    Summary

    Lumo's privacy-first approach is exactly why I wanted to use it — I was actually planning to build something similar myself, so I genuinely appreciate what Proton has created here. That said, I'm hitting a wall that prevents me from getting real value out of Lumo: there's currently no way to share email content with it in a controlled, secure manner.

    The Problem

    Lumo correctly states it has no access to my mailbox — which is great in principle. But email is where most of my communication lives. Without being able to work with email threads, I can't use Lumo to draft replies, summarize conversations, or act on my correspondence. Manually copy-pasting individual emails defeats the purpose entirely, and I certainly don't want to grant blanket access to my entire mailbox.

    What I'm Asking For

    A way to selectively and securely pass email threads or conversations to Lumo — without Lumo having standing access to my mailbox. Some ideas on how this could work:

    Forward-to-Lumo:
    A dedicated, private Proton Mail address for Lumo (e.g. lumo.username@...) where I can forward specific threads I want it to work with — keeping it ephemeral and scoped.

    In-app "Send to Lumo" action: A button in Proton Mail that lets me select a thread and push it to Lumo in one click, without any persistent mailbox access.

    Session-scoped sharing: A UX flow where I explicitly share one or more threads for a single Lumo session, after which access is revoked.

    Why This Matters

    The core value proposition of an AI assistant in an email context is helping with email. Without some form of controlled thread sharing, Lumo is effectively cut off from the most important part of my workflow. This one capability would be the difference between Lumo being a tool I use daily and one I can't really adopt.
    I'd love to see this prioritized — the privacy-preserving framing is already there, it just needs a UX bridge between my inbox and Lumo.

    Plaude is an AI app with a device on Amazon Web Services. Given some phone micro's and AI f.i. Xiaomi 15 pro are still evoluting, but to slow. Can Proton create a device / software enhancement voor microphones for STT direct on to proton servers. Meaning: not for AI training and under US privacy legislation?
