Support MCP Integration
Lumo should support the use of Model Context Protocol servers in a fashion similar to Claude Desktop. This should be done with DXT, the Desktop Extensions package format, for ease of support. It would be acceptable if Proton were to select a limited number of offerings in this area. There MUST be a developer option where we are permitted to use the direction JSON configuration and any available server, but this should be community forum supported, with no direct assistance from Proton.
I have been evaluating the offerings in this space the last two months and I released an MCP server of my own last week. Any AI chat client will require some sort of memory provision, that is where the next wave of innovation is happening. We should be permitted to experiment freely in developer mode, then Proton can benefit from the R&D work that we do.
My next move with Claude Desktop will be getting chats to automatically transfer to a Chroma database so they can be searched semantically. We should be able to do the same with email threads, perhaps with tagging, perhaps with search results.
The pricing model is not impressive. The €25/month rate matches paid plans from Anthropic and OpenAI. The €10/month long term seems risky to me. AI is a bubble that is about to burst, what happens if the market determines the €10 service actually costs €50? If Lumo grows to being a top quality service the higher cost will be acceptable to users, because smooth AI integration is worth the price. Please do not paint yourselves into a corner.

Required. Allowing Lumo to replace the AI features from big tech is very much inline with the vision and mission of Proton.

An MCP option of some sort is surely a must-have at this stage.
