2. Add Text-to-Speech and Voice Input

   I am enjoying interacting with Lumo so far and I am wanting to switch to Lumo from Gemini as my main AI. I really like the privacy and being able to see its thoughts. I would like to see some voice interaction in the future if possible. It would make it much easier for me to switch over and interact with Lumo. Perhaps a few different voice options and pacing would work well. Thank you!

4. Speech-to-text (use mic for desktop version)

   To dictate vague ideas and concepts while your browser captures the stream of thoughts is a real time saver and I feel enhances the experience of collaborating with the AI agent. I would really like to use my Mic with the desktop version of Lumo.

5. Enable .ICS file import from https://calendar.proton.me/u/1/ instead of via https://account.proton.me/u/1/calendar/dashboard

   Various platforms are used increasingly for video meetings and webinars. When booking, I often receive a .ICS file to download frtom an email, then import into my calendar. Each time, I have to go to my calendar, then select settings, then all settings, then Import/Export. This process takes a long time. Given the frequency of needing to import .ICS files, it would be much faster and easier if it were possible to import it from the Calendar view.

   While browser shortcuts like Ctrl+F can search the currently visible text, they lack integration and advanced features needed for long conversations. I request a dedicated "Search in this chat" function built directly into the Lumo interface.

   Specific requirements:

   A native search bar within the chat thread (not relying on browser tools).
   Typing a keyword jumps directly to the relevant message(s) within the current thread.
   Highlight all matches visually.
   Navigation controls: "Next" and "Previous" buttons to cycle through multiple matches efficiently.

7. Feature request — Lumo integration with Proton Drive as project context

   Hello,

   I'd like to propose a feature that would significantly increase Lumo's value for professional users: the ability for Lumo to read files directly from the user's own Proton Drive as conversation context.

   The current gap: Lumo works great with individual files pasted or uploaded into a chat, but there is no way to give it access to a complete folder — for example, a software project directory. Working on real code means needing context across many files at once (source code, configs, changelogs). Right now, this means repeatedly uploading files by hand, which breaks the workflow.

   Concrete user story (my own): I develop a network-management add-on for Kodi. Debugging sessions with Lumo involve dragging five-plus Python files into the conversation, manually keeping them in sync with my local versions, and re-sending them after long chats get compacted. If I could point Lumo at a synced folder in my Proton Drive — say, "read resources/lib in this shared folder as your working context" — the entire friction disappears. Everything stays end-to-end encrypted under my own keys, and Lumo always sees the current version.

   Why this fits Proton uniquely: This could become a genuinely differentiating feature. Privacy-focused cloud storage plus a private AI assistant that can securely work on your own files — with decryption happening client-side and content never exposed to third parties — is a combination mainstream competitors cannot credibly offer. For developers, writers, and researchers, "your encrypted Drive is your AI workspace" is a compelling pitch.

   Suggested scope (phased):

   Read-only access to user-selected Drive folders as chat context (with automatic refresh on file changes).
   Later: a session-persistent "workspace" concept that survives conversation compaction.

8. Native file generation and download in Lumo (return edited project files as a ZIP)

   As an amateur developer working on Android apps with Visual Studio, I currently rely on ChatGPT for my coding workflow. I upload my entire project folder as a ZIP, describe the changes I need, and the AI corrects the files directly and sends them back to me as a downloadable ZIP. This automated loop is essential for me as a hobbyist who doesn't have the time or patience to manually copy-paste code into dozens of files.

   I would love to switch to Lumo because of its privacy focus and non-US ownership, but the current limitation is a dealbreaker. Right now, I can upload files for analysis, but any corrections require me to manually copy-paste the code back into Visual Studio. For a small project with many files, this makes the workflow too slow and cumbersome for an amateur developer.

   Feature request:

   Allow Lumo to act as a code agent: accept a project ZIP, apply requested changes to the files internally, and return the corrected project as a downloadable ZIP archive.
   Alternatively, enable direct writing to a linked Proton Drive folder for a project, so the changes are saved automatically.
   

   Without this feature, Lumo is impractical for software development tasks involving multiple files. Implementing this would make Lumo the perfect privacy-respecting alternative for hobbyists and indie developers who want to avoid US-based AI services but still need efficient, automated coding assistance.

   Problem: When a question about Proton products/features finds no results via Lumo's Proton documentation lookup, Lumo currently concludes the feature doesn't exist — sometimes confidently warning users it may be a scam. In my case, Lumo denied Proton Pass AI Access Tokens (a real, shipped feature announced May 2026) and suggested I'd encountered phishing, because the docs index hadn't caught up with the announcement. Live web search quickly corrected this, but only because it happened to be used.

   Requested feature: When the Proton documentation tool returns no results for a product question, Lumo should automatically fall back to web search before answering, rather than treating "not in the index" as "doesn't exist." This matters for user trust: the assistant contradicting Proton's own documentation undermines confidence in using it for Proton questions at all.

10. Text size adjustments

    Implement an option in settings to make the text bigger in the mobile apps. Specifically IOS. Global text size adjustment has no affect on the Lumo application. Results are too small. Needs to be more clear like ChatGPT for example.

12. Transcript feature uncensored

    Currently i get censored when i am speaking for no reason <- me swearing is not "a reason" unless there is no free speak. Me swearing when someone is present, including a child, or someone who will get offended, are reason i fully understand that are real "a reason". But:

    Or what, what i am talking with Lumo needs to be censored in case someone read what i speak with an 100% privacy AI?

    And

    If this is not from Lumo, but our own device, then why do we have a function in the chat that might expose our talk? Aka not enough transparecy on this, and sadly this becomes more and more important as companies add more "monitoring what you do on the device" <- look up LG and such if you want an up to date version of what i mean......

    Now that i "addressed" tons of "arguments", i want to point out one thing. That argument is not really far fetched. On top of Lumo Trying to understand what we say, especially if we have issues with pronouncing, then it's even more difficult to be clear. And the issue is that Lumo needs to further check everything if it's slur, swearing, or more.

    This means: Run through ALLLLL of the information in case it's a code, or slag, or different expression or language

    This also means that it might "flag" something. And this is an issue. After all, if it flags something, does this not add even further to background thinking that is used for other matters because, as the argument said, aka, who are we "minding our manners" for?

    Also i want to highlight, i was told many times that the whole "don't" and "no" and even "avoid" are stuff ais don't understand well.

    this means that Lumo is actively needing to censor whatever it's thinking, removing "bad words" or "adding " around the terms" so that it can think about....

    So

    again

    I ask something: Lumo censorese what i said. Rephases what i said. Removes pieces. And then it finally has the full picture? No, this is NOT what i am talking about.

    I am talking about the fact that as a program, before Lumo is even thinking, it already has parcially censored, removed, version, that NO thinking was used.

    Exemple

    are causing issues for Lumo to understand what it is.

    And those ***** is the terms that got censored.

    Without any thinking, no reasoning, nothing.

    so the end message is not a complete on, but fragmented.

    Also when Lumo writes the whole thing it actually finally understand everything because the whole idea was that it summary and filled out details itself.

    Did you know the term ********? Because this is the BEST to use with ais.

    1st: you make it clear you are asking it to NOT be ********.

    Aka you are not telling or labelling that it's ******** but that it behaves like one.

    And the fun part? when you ask the AI what ******** means in this context.

    you will see that it will not answer no matter what.

    And constantly output the same BS.

    Example: "a person"

    Why would an AI talk about a person when you asked it, the ai, to not be ********? <- REMINDER, THIS IS ME GIVING AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT I DO WITH ALL OF THE AIs.

    and after struggling a lot, finally it understand that you are not talking about any person.

    But about it (the ai)'s behaviour.

    And the "level of output" due to it's own behaviour (lack of thinking and understanding)

    And also, within reasons since i hope you understand you being "non thinking" will never recreate what i am talking about..... so, also, then you address the elephant in the room:

    Who is it offensive to?

    After all, legally, that term is not a valid any more. Even if it was at one point, now, when people use the term, is 100% not used as a way to say that someone is clinically low IQ or similar. On the contrary, it's them pointing out that what they said, think, do, and react does not meet with something, someone who thinks, would meet. As such, why is it an insult that we point out to other people that you need to stop being offended when you have failed to think?

    BTW, i am still talking about AIs, i know what i said is true in many cases but i hope everyone understand we are on Lumo suggestion and what i wrote is just me using people vs people as example to make it clear why i am suggestion an uncensored version

13. Our Privacy due to Apertus and similar to be clarified

    WARNING: there is only 1 single suggestion: when an update, or system or otherwise is added, Lumo needs to be aware of.

    Everything else i write, is me explaining the context, why, and more. But please remember that all this is for the above suggestion.......... Because i asked lumo to do a summary and it added "suggestion" that i did not say (like usually, adding extras....) but they are on the point, and can, hopefully, help everyone understand the suggestion better.

    HERE IS COPY PASTE FROM LUMO:

    On 11 September 2026 I used the thumbs-down button to report an inadequate response from Lumo. This opened a dialog titled "Help us improve" with the following text:

    "When you submit feedback, your prompt and this response are sent to Proton for analysis and improvement. Feedback about Apertus may also be shared with the Apertus team."

    Problem 1: The feedback feature cannot be used safely. There is no option to control who receives the data. If the answer involved the Apertus model, the prompt and response may be forwarded to an external team that is not Proton (the Apertus developers). The dialog gives no way to decline that specific part, no way to know whether the answer was even generated by Apertus since model routing is not shown to the user, and no information about whether anything identifying is attached or stripped before forwarding. As a result, using the feedback feature carries an unquantified privacy risk, which defeats the purpose of a privacy-first assistant. The choice ends up being: report bad answers and accept uncontrolled sharing, or stay silent and give up the feedback feature entirely.

    Problem 2: The answer I tried to report was not useful in the first place. Lumo repeatedly failed to explain clearly what the feedback dialog means and how the data sharing works, despite this involving Lumo itself and its own privacy implications. Having to do multiple rounds of external web searching to get basic clarity on a privacy disclosure about Lumo is a failure. The combination of a poor answer, no transparency about which model produced it, and a feedback channel with an unconditional external sharing clause caused me to question the safety and privacy of the whole service.

    Requested changes:

    1. Show which model generated the answer being rated, or at minimum state whether the feedback for that specific answer would be shared externally.
    2. Add an option in the feedback dialog to exclude the prompt and response, or to send rating only, or to opt out of the external Apertus sharing specifically.
    3. Document in the Lumo privacy page exactly what is forwarded to the Apertus team and in what form, including whether any identifiers are attached or stripped.
    4. Improve Lumo's own ability to explain its own privacy features accurately.

    I once again, want to remind, my suggestion is just for Lumo, if we ask about itself, Proton producs, and more, to actually know. Something that i saw many times failing (like how Lumo did not know it's a cat. And How it did not understand how projects can be linked to folders in drive and so on and on).

    MY POINT: this is just another example of critical information that Lumo should know without us needing to search online, blogs, announcements, and more for anything, since it's about Lumo directly and about privacy.

14. Lumo Watchlist & Scheduled Monitoring – Client-Side Alerts for Topic Tracking

    Hi Proton Team,

    I'm a long-time Proton user who relies heavily on GrapheneOS + Lumo as part of a de-Googled mobile workflow. I love that Lumo 2.0 now has private web search and persistent memory — these features make it an incredibly powerful tool for privacy-conscious professionals.

    That said, there's one gap between what Lumo offers today and what would make it a true competitor to mainstream AI assistants with automation capabilities: the inability to set up proactive, scheduled monitoring of topics or changes.

    Currently, if I want to track whether something new has been published about a specific topic (e.g., "Motorola GrapheneOS partnership"), I have to manually initiate a web search each time. This is inefficient and easy to forget. Other AI platforms offer background task scheduling or keyword monitoring, but often at the cost of privacy (they track your interests server-side).

    Proposed Solution
    Enable user-defined scheduled monitoring tasks within the Lumo client (mobile/web app). The concept would work entirely client-side:

    Create a Watchlist Entry — user specifies:

    Query/topic to monitor (e.g., "GrapheneOS Motorola news")
    Frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, custom cron-like interval)
    Comparison criteria (new results only, significant change detected, etc.)
    Alert method (in-app notification, email via Proton Mail)
    Client-Side Execution — the scheduling happens locally on the user's device. Lumo periodically performs web_search autonomously, compares results with baseline state stored locally, and surfaces differences.

    Privacy Preservation — no server-side logging of watchlists or tracking history. Everything encrypted end-to-end where applicable, with zero-access architecture maintained. Optional opt-in for syncing watchlists across devices via encrypted storage.

    Integration with Existing Features — leverage Lumo 2.0's Persistent Memory to remember previous search baselines. Leverage Private Web Search to avoid external data leaks during queries.

    Use Cases
    Journalists/Researchers: Track breaking developments on stories of interest without revealing query patterns.
    Enterprise IT Security: Monitor threat intelligence feeds or vulnerability disclosures relevant to organization infrastructure.
    Legal/Compliance Teams: Watch regulatory updates on specific topics without internal logs revealing sensitive priorities.
    Consumers: Track product releases, policy changes, or service updates privately (like the Motorola-GrapheneOS-Proton scenario we've been discussing).

    Implementation Considerations (Technical Notes)
    Since Proton already supports zero-access encryption, client-side processing, and encrypted sync across devices, most infrastructure pieces may already exist:

    Scheduling: Could run as background task using native OS scheduler (not Lumo server polling)
    Baseline Storage: Local SQLite/IndexedDB with encrypted snapshot of last-known-good state
    Comparison Logic: Simple diff algorithm comparing search result hashes or keywords
    Notifications: Push notifications via standard platform channels (no server involvement beyond delivery trigger)
    Cross-device Sync: Optional, encrypted via Proton's existing key management system
    Key constraint: Do NOT store watchlist definitions on Proton servers unless explicitly encrypted by client (E2EE), and ensure no metadata leakage occurs.

    Why Now?
    With Lumo 2.0 launching on June 30, 2026, featuring image generation, persistent memory, and private web search, the foundation is essentially ready. Adding scheduled monitoring would naturally extend Lumo's unique value proposition as the only AI assistant that doesn't require compromising privacy for automation.

    This feature would differentiate Lumo dramatically from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot — all of which either track user activity server-side or lack sophisticated background task capabilities.

15. Add text-to-speech playback so users can listen to responses

    Summary:
    Add an option to have Lumo's responses read aloud using the text-to-speech engine that's already built into Android and iOS. No server-side synthesis required.

    The problem:
    Lumo offers voice input on mobile, but there's no way to listen to a response. Users have to stop and read every reply, which makes it awkward to use Lumo hands-free and excludes users who prefer or need audio in support of their individual impairments such as visual strain, dyslexia, and similar situations.

    Proposed solution:
    Rather than building a separate TTS pipeline, query the onboard text-to-speech engine that every Android and iPhone already ships with. Everything is processed locally on the device, so nothing additional ever leaves the phone or Proton's ecosystem.

    Suggested details:
    * A play button on responses (or per-message) that hands the text to the system TTS engine
    * Playback speed and voice selection, exposed natively by both OS APIs at no extra cost
    * Optionally, support for third-party TTS engines the user has installed, so users can pick higher-quality voices or other languages

    Why this fits Lumo:
    * Zero privacy trade-off: the text is already decrypted on-device to display it; reading it aloud changes nothing about the zero-access encryption model
    * No infrastructure cost: it's purely client-side, so it scales without adding server load or cost
    * Fits Proton's privacy-first positioning: vocal interaction without shipping user audio or text to a third-party speech cloud

    A small feature, but it meaningfully improves accessibility and everyday usability for anyone who prefers listening over reading.

16. Import chat history from other LLM

    Please allow us to import chat history from other big commercial cloud hosted LLMs to ease transition and not lose all the information prior LLMs gleaned from us, what we are doing, what is important to us, etc.

Recently I asked Lumo and he suggested settings. So by trying myself, I realized something and succeeded in making the background white. That helped a bit. But the bar is still very small. Can you please fix this.

18. Automatically save chat responses to a document

    In my view, Lumo 2.0 should prioritize its core strengths—leveraging the scientific and technical expertise behind Proton's mission—rather than focusing heavily on image generation. Image creation requires significant financial investment, and many established competitors already serve this market extensively. While I understand there may be legitimate privacy concerns around processing images, it seems the choice to pursue image generation was driven by market trends in AI rather than staying true to the scientific and educational purpose for which Proton was originally founded. My suggestion would be to refocus development resources toward those foundational goals where Proton has unique value and differentiation. For example;

    Background:
    I am deciding at this time who to invest my time, information and money for ai services. I see the benefits of Claude and its ability of Coworker.
    What’s my issue.
    I want to use Lumo for my personal & business for knowledge management with Projects and Drive integration. Currently:
    index works beautifully, but saving responses requires manual copy/paste/upload.

    Requested Feature:
    Automatically save chat responses to a documents name it and to assign to Project folder I’m working in, into the Proton Drive,
    then index those files for future context retrieval without loading full conversation history.

    Thank you for your Suite, I have subscribed for mainly the vpn but have unlimited subscription. I don’t use extensively because the offering is still a bit raw. No sheet app for example or document app. So just waiting.

20. Export and Access Chat-Knowledge Files to/in Proton Drive

    Perhaps, a 1-click button to export chat-knowledge files and/or transcripts (with formatting & timestamps reserved) to Proton Drive would be nice? And/or, having Lumo access files in Proton Drive as chat-knowledge files would also be useful, especially given the file-upload limit per chat.
