  1. Accepting an event should be associated to the recipient's email

It is a bug, but the support said it's more like a feature.

Accepting an event invite associates the event with the default email address instead of the recipient's one.

At the moment, you have to manually go to Proton Calendar, edit the invite, associate it with Y@mydomain.com, save it, and accept the invite.

Of course, there are edge cases such as aliases, but that's the power of it.

  2. Decline an event with a note

It would be helpful to be able to add a note when declining an event, explaining why the event was declined.

  3. Distinguish recurring events

This is a minor quality-of-life improvement, but one that I - and hopefully others - would find immensely useful. I would like to request the addition of a visual indicator in the main calendar view if an event is a recurring one (Outlook does this with a circular double-arrow symbol). If one instance of a recurring event is altered, that symbol becomes crossed-out, but remains visible as to distinguish between recurring events, altered recurring event entries, and single events.

  4. Month - Week - Day view toggle button

Substitute the current drop-down menu with individual buttons or icons or a single toggle button for a quicker toggle between Month - Week - Day view, at least for wider screens. Havint to use 2 clicks for such a feature, which I frequently use, slows down the worflow.

  6. Dayforce support

Add support for calendar sync with Ceridian dayforce.

Ceridian dayforce is a scheduling app used by companies so workers can see when theyre planned in. This app has a local calendar sync feature built in that currently doesnt work with proton calendar.

  7. Share calendar on free plan

Wife and I are trying out Proton suite. The current purchase price is a bit high, though if we were to find ourselves really sticking with it and starting to see the value, that could change. There are just so many free alternatives, so really need to see the value first at a practical level.

The immediate issue is that we have to be able to share the calendar with each other. With that not being available in the Free sku, we likely won't continue to use Proton long enough to consider upgrading.

  8. Show multi-day appointments of less than 24 hours as regular appointments

Currently, an appointment from 23:00 to 1:00 the next day is shown as a mutli-day appointment in the top bar in the Android version of Proton Calendar.

To me, it is important that, when planning, I can see such appointments in the regular agenda view. This prevents me from making overlapping appointments.

Google Calendar does this by showing appointments of less than 24 hours regularly and appointments of 24 hours or more are shown in the top bar.

Also, the desktop view of Proton Calendar already has this behaviour. But the Android version does not.

  10. Drag and drop without confirmation box

I would like the ability to drag and drop events in the calendar without having to auto confirm each time. This is how it works in google calendar and is ideal.

When timeblocking, and pushing lots of events, it gets frustrating having to confirm because i need to do this lots of times.

  11. Create a way to modify a season calendar time zone

I’ve just downloaded the MLB calendar but it’s not recognising that I’m in a different time zone than when the games are on in the local time. Is there a way to create a function to select a time zone - or convert to my time zone?

  12. Web app left side bar month view: highlight dates with events

The tiny month view in the left side bar of the web app lacks the colored dots highlighting events, as seen on the similiar month view in the Android app when in split screen.

  14. Include contacts from used device's contacts instead of only Proton Mail's contacts and make it possible to create new contacts for events

It came to me as I created a new event in my agenda, which is Proton Calendar, and tried to add a contact to the event, I then noticed that only my Proton Mail's contacts were available, I couldn't add a contact from my smartphone's contacts nor create a new contact for the event. 😟

  15. Add Import Calendar to Calendar UI (as opposed to being just buried in Settings)

On the left bar, below the calendar is the list of "My Calendars". Next to the label "My Calendars," there are icons for add calendar and settings.

My suggestion is to add a third icon to that group to import calendars (e.g. ICS files)

  16. when internet connection lost, ability to add event on the calendar app

When internet connection lost, users should be able to add event on the calendar app.
Synchronization would then occur when the internet connection is found again.

  17. View/edit shared calendars (with iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, etc.)

Calendars is missing a critical function of allowing EDIT function of a shared calendar to non-Proton users. I have calendars setup with people that we manage together and if they are not on the Proton platform it is currently impossible (or I am missing the hidden settings).

    1. Allow us to send shared calendar to non-Proton users providing View and EDIT capabilites! Should be able to share with iCloud, Google, Outlook, etc. calendar platform.
    2. Allow us to accept shared calendars from other services when invited.

  19. New calendar item/event copies time from old/previous item with matching name (e.g. work shifts)

I use Google Calendar but I want to switch to Proton.
I work irregular (day, evening, night) and I always add my start and end hours in my calendar item. When I add a new "Day Shift" item in the Google Calendar it offers the option to copy the hours over from past events. So you do not have to keep setting the hours everytime you add a 1:1 similar item on another day.
