This would be a nice addition, but it's not totally necessary, as one can easily subscribe to public holiday calendars manually.

I think what Proton could do is add a link into the settings of Proton Calendar, something to the effect of "Looking for holiday calendars? Click here."

That link could lead to a Proton documentation page, blog post, or FAQ that shows how to add holiday calendars, and either provides a list of calendar URLs, or links to a trustworthy site that provides them. This solution would take like a day for a single developer to implement for all platforms, and would functionally achieve what is being requested here without having to actually add new functionality to the app.

Show U.S. Holidays.

Why should Proton include various options for holidays? Because I am paying them. That payment won't renew with the calendar being as it is now.

Guys there are dozens of web sites where you can subscribe to those holidays calendars for every country, religion, culture, calendar types etc. that you can imagine with a simple copy/paste. I don't see why Proton should spend days of work to implement this when all of us can benefit from this feature in 10 seconds. For example, for US holidays, just create a new read-only calendar in Proton Calendar with this URL: webcal://www.webcal.guru/en-US/download_calendar?calendar_instance_id=41

It would be nice to have the holidays already in Proton Calendar. The cherry on the cake would be to have them by country.
This would, I am pretty sure, make many users happy.
This feature is already in Exchange/Outlook.

Import and sync public holidays.

This is the ONLY thing keeping me from making ProtonCal my default cal.

I am moving from Google Calendar and I liked being able to subscribe to calendars such as "US Holidays", "NFL Football Games", etc.

This has already been implemented. You can easily find and import .cal files for all the national holidays in your country.

This would be very much appreciated. I have recently retired and no longer have access to my employer-provided Outlook Calendar, which I used on a daily basis. Now that I am retired I am relying on my Proton Calendar. It would be great to be able to import/show holidays.

With calendar, it would be nice if holidays where automatically added as an event on the proper day/month.

If you can find them via government websites etc you can often download and import them as ical files. It would be great to have the ability to point proton calendar at a public list of holidays maintained elsewhere though. That way we wouln't have to worry about going to update them every year or two

Ability to import holidays from country of choice

Google calendar has UK bank holidays. Each country may have its own national days. It would nice to have an option to add national days.

so then i won't forget Mother's Day

I would like to have just the basic holidays like the US-paid federal holidays on my calendar, not a bunch of weird holidays.

It would be great but they could have a issue with Different Countries have different Holidays.
