this seems like a no brainer to implement if you want users to come from yahoo/gmail/hotmail

You should be able to click something inside of ProtonMail that quickly adds a calendar event. The event should be able to have the email within it ie. the format of the email, hyperlinks still functioning etc

Use case example: My public transport planning app lets me create an .ics file from the desired connection. But at the moment I can't use the Android app of Proton Calendar to open the .ics file with or to import the .ics file. I'd like to switch from Outlook to Proton Calendar, but my use cases doesn't allow it. -

When importing a calendar invitation, we should be able to choose in which calendar (MyCalendars) to import it into.
Currently, it goes to the default calendar and it is not possible to change it (e.g. meetings). -

Any update on this? It's pretty painful to have to download the invite.ics, open proton calendar, click the settings icon (which navigates to an entirely different page than the calendar), click "Import from .ics", find the .ics in my file explorer and drag it in, and click ok.
That's a 6 step process that should be 1 step: A link on the email "Import calendar event to Proton Calendar"
I would love this feature as it would save me a TON of time and friction.

This troll down here has obviously never worked a customer facing job. Protonmail is not my 'anti-spam' email, it is my high hopes for replacing google suite. That is their goal too. If you want super private email with little risk of spam and exposure, go somewhere else or host your own. That isn't the ambition of Proton's suite. To replace google, we need feature parity. Most folks using Google mail and calendar actually 'work from' their calendar more than their email. For example, most of my emails I do not check but rather skim over the subject and snippet of body, that is all I need. I can triage that way. Then, if a meeting request comes in I cannot afford to go through each and every email to catch it... the meeting will happen before I even check the email with the invite. The Calendar is like a personal assistant where I can triage all ics/meeting requests. If spam is the problem, then proton is not doing their job and will never replace google suite.

This isn't foolish at all. This is the standard for an external facing email provider that you expect to use in any professional capacity. Gmail, outlook, yahoo, and so on all do this. The accountability for ics spam getting through falls on the email provider, not me. Either figure it out, or stop trying to replace Google suite. In other words, this is a must. I purchased visionary just to access the calendar whenever it was coming out in beta. This issue is the primary reason I could not make the switch. In short, I live through my calendar and glance-read many of my emails. I cannot afford to go through each individual email, accept, deny, etc. My calendar is my personal assistant, and I need all invites to propagate there. This is the case for millions of working professions in the US alone, especially those using Gmail and Google Calendar. Fix this, and I guarantee that your retention for Proton Calendar will go way up. Professionals looking to get away from Google give it one look, see it doesn't fit there needs, and move on (no feedback). This is a major pain that is flying under the radar.

If scam ICS is sent out and you want to add it to your calendar and optionally automatically tell the scammer your email address is valid so that you get even more spam ??
Please rethink this idea so that it only applies to people in your contact list and all others go to spam. -

Is there a way to ask Proton Mail Product Manager to check the other repeated requests about this topic, sum up all the votes and start coding this feature? In total we already have more than 37 votes!

It is annoying to download the ics file, then import it from the calendar app. Every time, for all invitations.

There are duplicate requests at:
* https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar/suggestions/39403963-to-be-able-to-add-event-to-calendar-from-email-scr
* https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar/suggestions/43430718-integrate-calendar-and-email-so-that-events-can-be
* https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar/suggestions/43399926-add-protoncalendar-event-from-protonmail
* https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar/suggestions/42829062-import-invitation-received-by-emailat least. This is including only the ones I've seen that specifically mention importing .ics invites directly from ProtonMail - I think there are others about more generally importing .ics files from your computer. I'd prefer not to have to download from email -> upload to calendar as two separate steps (and get random files cluttering my desktop) but it'd be acceptable as a workaround. The other suggested workaround of downloading, editing, and uploading is too many steps for me - at that point it's easier to just retype the whole invitation myself.

This would be an excellent addition

Yes! The option to" create a new event" by uploading a ICS invite from your computer.

As described in the title, it would be great to automatically import an event attached to a mail (.ics) to Proton Calendar without having to download and manually import it.
Moreover, I would like to automatically answer to the invite. -
