Expanded color selection
Being able to assign a calendar's color with an HTML color picker would be extremely beneficial.

Please - this is an accessibility issue. For those who have some degree of color blindness they need to be able to set color not based on a theme or even light or dark mode but what color/contrast works best for the individual.

Please add this feature, it's essential!

Currently, the preset color options are quite limited, and many are too bright for my personal taste. It would be fantastic if Proton Calendar could support:
*Custom calendar colors (allowing users to input hex codes or select from a color wheel).
*A “no color” or transparent option for calendars where color-coding isn’t necessary. This would help users like me who prefer a more minimal or muted aesthetic when managing multiple calendars.
Thanks for your consideration and for all the work you do to protect our privacy!

This will be developed for Drive according to Roadmap for next Winter/Spring, I hope that the implementation can be made also in Mail
https://proton.me/blog/proton-drive-product-roadmap> Better organize files and folders
> As Proton Drive becomes more full featured, complexity is also increasing. Today, you might have to manage files across My Files, Computers, and Shared with me sections. We will be rolling out new copy and move options which will work seamless across all 3 spaces.
> We’re also adding a splash of color to Proton Drive. With the ability to change the color of your folders, you’ll be able to color-code folders to organize work projects or personal files – simplifying the process of finding what you need when you need it.

I’m currently testing this calendar to see if it can replace the app i’m using. I’ve use several apps, and all of them had this feature. I do time blocking on my calendar, and i usually put those blocks in a very light color to distinguish them from my real appointements. And i always use the same colors for similar topics in all my apps. I’m a very visual personn, and not been able to do that complicates a lot my organisation process.

I use calendar colors "semantically", such that the color of a calendar and its events tells me something about it (type, priority, etc). The built-in colors for Proton Calendar are utterly useless to me in this regard. I also find that the pastel colors blend in the Android app's month view, making events difficult to distinguish with a quick glance. Google's colors leave a lot to be desired, but they're miles better than Proton Calendar. Until I began using Proton Calendar, I hadn't realized how much I rely on the color "semantics" to make information stand out from the jumble of events.
I really don't understand how someone puts in the work to add calendar colors, but then nerfs the feature by hard coding just 5 basic color groups, with 4 largely indistinguishable variations of each. Just add a color wheel!

Totally agree! Would be beneficial have the hex code option

The fact that this isn't implemented by default is shameful. Pretty much any other calendar app has this feature, or at least offers a wider range of colors than Proton. As someone who has to have several calendars sync'd for work etc., it's very difficult to visually distinguish them with the current choice of colors, not to mention it looks hideous. I'm considering going back to Google Calendar just for this, I don't understand why such a basic feature isn't available.

Seriously? Other more established calendar applications don't even do anything like that. I'm sure the developers have many other actual value-adding features to consider before this exorbitant 'nice-to-have'.

Right now, we can choose the colour of a calendar from a couple of colours. I would love if we could input our own hex code to really make the calendars our own.

I would really like to see a change to the color options for labels, folders, calendars, etc. Specifically, I would like the ability to pick the color I want via hex code.
