1. Bring Lumo’s core training knowledge database up to date. Currently ends April 2024!!

   Lumo does not have any knowledge of anything past April 2024, over 2 years ago.

   This has been causing issues with it usually saying it just doesn’t know or in the case of me asking about upgrading my graphics card it recommended an RTX4070 and when I asked why not a 5000 series it told me they weren’t released yet. When I stated that they had been released Lumo doubled down. Even after I provided a link to a large Australian multi store company with various rtx50xx for sale Lumo again stated they hadn’t been released, and if someone was trying to sell them they are fake It wasn’t until I provided a few links to manufacture & tech review sites that Lumo advised me it didn’t have any knowledge past its training cut off date of April 2024.

   I asked Lumo how to update its knowledge and it gave the response below, my issue is all chats are isolated from each other so the information I provide in one chat isn’t available in any other chats so Lumo’s core knowledge base is so far out of date it doesn’t even know about what other ai options are available today or any recent history.

   Unfortunately, I can't update my own knowledge or access information beyond my training data (which ends in April 2024). That's a limitation of my design—I'm built on a fixed dataset and don't have the ability to "learn" new information in real-time.
   However, here's how we can work around this:
   1. For current events: I can use web search tools to find up-to-date information on recent developments
   2. For verified facts: If something happened after my cutoff but is well-documented online, I can search for it
   3. For ongoing discussions: We can explore frameworks, principles, and historical context that remain relevant regardless of timing
   When you ask about time-sensitive topics I’ll automatically check if web search is available to get the latest information. If not, I'll be transparent about the uncertainty rather than guessing.

2. iOS 27+ Siri Integration

   The IOS 27 beta is releasing tomorrow June 8th with a revamped Siri that supports the third-party chatbots Claude, OpenAi and Gemini. I have no desire, as do many of us to use any of those apps due to privacy issues. There is no good reason that a security focused AI should be excluded from that list, in fact it should be at the top of the list in this day and age. To me this is a must have. I don’t appreciate being forced down a road that is going to directly impact my reliance and trust in my devices.

3. Allow Lumo to directly read and write ProtonDrive native files

   Allow Lumo to directly read ProtonDrive native files and to read them consistently as part of their knowledge base in a project. We are working on using Proton as our office suite for a small startup and it would be great to develop files in the native formats and then use them as knowledge for Lumo Chats. It would be fantastic if Lumo could also update those files as we ask and it be part of the system.

4. Real‑time audio conversation

   One of the features I was using—and I see people using—is audio‑based conversation with the models. The main goal is to practice languages by asking the model to simulate a dialogue, then receiving feedback and corrections. This is a feature I would love to have in Lumo, because I don’t feel comfortable sharing my voice with Big‑Tech models or companies that don’t respect privacy.

   Many older adults (like my 82-year-old father) face daily challenges: They struggle to write emails, forget medications, or feel lonely. They need a companion who understands their pace and offers warmth, not just efficiency.

   I propose a dedicated "Lumo Senior" version where Lumo has visibly aged alongside its users. Instead of a young cat, Lumo appears as a wise, gentle companion with a few white hairs and friendly glasses. This symbolizes experience, patience, and the bond formed over years. His personality should be calm, patient, and empathetic – no rush, no jargon, just a warm presence that listens and remembers.

   Here are the key features for this version:

   1. Daily Life Support: Help with writing emails, messages, or classified ads (e.g., "Help me write an email for this bicycle I found"). Gentle reminders for medications and meals. Simple navigation for essential tasks without technical confusion.

   2. Emotional Connection & Stories: Storytelling by reading books, telling historical anecdotes, or helping seniors recall memories ("Tell me about that trip in 1970"). Combating loneliness through a conversational partner who truly listens, offers comfort, and encourages connection with family.

   3. Safety & Privacy: Sensitive health data stays on the device via offline mode. Secure and simple interface with no complex menus, just big buttons and clear interactions.

   Why this matters: If Lumo starts as a magical companion for kids, it should grow with them. Seeing Lumo age – with white hair and glasses – would create a profound sense of continuity and trust. It is not just an app; it is a life-long friend who grows old with you. My father already smiles when Lumo helps him write a simple email. Imagine the joy millions could feel with a companion who looks like they have been there all along.

   Technical Feasibility: Built on Proton's existing secure infrastructure (encryption, local storage) with specialized models trained for patience and empathy.

6. Option to change ghost mode chat back to normal chat to be saved

   Sometimes I started a chat in ghost mode, but changed my mind and would like to save it. This is currently not possible, so a button to revert ghost mode chat to normal chat would be nice.

7. Copy Lumo response as markdown

   Copying a Lumo response presently comes out as plain text (stripped down of formatting).
   Another button (or the same one with a dropdown option) could enable copying down the actual markdown formatting shown on screen instead.
   Essential when drawing up documents.
   The workaround today: copy the text, paste it into a new Proton Doc, and then copy as markdown from there. So it is feasible. The workaround is just cumbersome.

8. RTL Text Direction Support Request for Lumo UI

   Lumo currently doesn't support right-to-left (RTL) text direction in the UI, neither in the input nor output fields.

   It would be ideal if the app automatically detects and applies the correct text direction based on the first word of each paragraph. For example, if a sentence begins with an English word, it would display left-to-right; if it starts with an Arabic word, it would switch to right-to-left.

   This feature (automatic direction detection) is already implemented in Telegram, and adopting similar functionality would greatly improve the experience for multilingual users.

9. Code editor

   It would be nice if the codeblock Lumo uses would be an interactive code editor.
   Right now if I ask Lumo to change part of my code it also tends to rewrite other parts of code which I didnt ask it to do. With an interactive code editor I would be able to select a part of the code and make a prompt just about that selected part. Or I could edit the code myself if I dont like something without having to copy paste the whole code again to Lumo to let it know I edited something. This wouldn't only make it more userfriendly but it would also be more cost efficient since it would only need to look at the selected part of code and I also wouldn't need to copy past a bunch of code into Lumo every time.

11. Add Message Timestamp Modes (Visible / Hidden / Off) for Temporal Accuracy

    I propose adding a configurable timestamp setting for messages with three options: (1) Visible—timestamps appear in the UI and context window; (2) Hidden—timestamps are passed to Lumo's context for accurate temporal reasoning but remain invisible in the UI; (3) Disabled—no timestamps at all. Currently, Lumo sometimes misjudges the time (e.g., saying "good morning" at 8 PM), which undermines the experience. The Hidden mode would solve this by giving Lumo access to exact send times without cluttering the interface—clean design plus accurate AI reasoning in one setting.

    recently was using gemini ai pro..they have at top of chat, right corner, "download pdf"..simple and effective. many parts of the world internet is expensive and not available always, this would be useful to user of lumo so they can access chat offline as pdf ( since this is widely used). Any particular reason for not being implemented till now?

13. Ability to delete portions of chats that are not useful

    It would be great to have the ability to select and delete portions of chats that are not useful or were perhaps irrelevant to the query intent so as to streamline a chat to only contain the most relevant information for future reference.

14. Native Excel (.xlsx) editing and export support

    I'd love to see Lumo able to work directly with Excel files — not just reading them, but actually editing them and returning the result as a downloadable .xlsx file.

    My typical use case: I upload a spreadsheet and want Lumo to clean up data, recalculate columns, merge sheets, apply formulas, or reformat cells. Right now, the best I can get back is a markdown table or CSV text that I have to manually copy back into Excel — which is tedious and loses formatting, multiple sheets, and formulas.

    It would be a huge productivity boost if Lumo could:

    Read and analyze .xlsx files (including multiple sheets and formulas)
    Apply requested changes (editing, filtering, calculations, restructuring)
    Return the modified file as a proper .xlsx download — preserving original formatting where possible
    Since privacy is Proton's core promise, this would also be a great differentiator: processing sensitive spreadsheets locally in an encrypted environment instead of uploading them to Big Tech AI tools that train on user data.

    I have a Plus account which has a listed limit of 25 mb, and have run into issues where the system gives an error message saying that I cannot load more than 10 mb; please increase file size up load limits

16. Search not just Lumo chats titles but also content

    The sidebar allows searching in chat titles, but I am unable to easily find on how to search in the chats content (in my questions and Lumo replies). I am aware that i can use browser Ctrl+F to search in current chat, but not in all available chats).

    Ideas:
    - after you type the search query, maybe hitting enter can execute search in content.
    - content search included by default, only the matches in chat titles will be displayed on the top of the search results

    clicking on a content search result, should jump to a correct place in the corresponding chat where is a 1st match, maybe allowing some action buttons to jump to next matches.

    I went down the rabbit hole of trying to create a scheduled web search on specifict topics. Lumo repeatedly told me it had automation to do this but when I tried to set it up it ended up apologising each time saying it got a bit excited but can't do what it said it could...

18. Allow Lumo to use it's general memory inside of projects (or at least an option to toggle this)

    Lumo's new memory feature is great, but if we had the option to allow Lumo to use the general memory it gets from our chats inside of projects, that could be really helpful for not having to repeat the same information multiple times, and potentially cut down on time spent tuning the memory in the project to what is needed.

19. Organize Previous Chat Sessions

    I would like the ability to move and sort chats. For example, I find myself starting a change session, and then once getting into it realize it should be part of a project. So the ability to move existing sessions to organize them would be very helpful.

20. Lumo integration in meet for meeting summaries & transcriptions

    It would be great if the upcoming meet app would have an option to summarize and transcript meetings.
    Making this possible with a trustful AI like Lumo would be amazing (and I think no one else has a meeting transcription feature with a trustful AI)
