Basic plan
A 'basic' price plan between 'free' and 'plus', that is a lot cheaper than the $/€4 per month 'plus' plan. The price covers the running costs of a 'free' account, and should provide less of a shock to the system of cash-strapped people used to free (albeit not private) email.
The added features over the 'free' plan would be Protonmail Bridge, so emails & attachments can be downloaded, as the 500MB capacity fills very fast even with just standard usage, and the option to remove the signature "Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email" (default setting would be signature included). I would personally be happy to keep the signature to help spread the word about Protonmail.

Just like others commented, I can't justify paying 5€ per months for things I will not use.
A basic plan with 1 or 2 extra addresses, a little more storage (2-3Go, never good to keep too much in the cloud) and SMTP access is all I would need to give you money to make sure you stay in business.

As others have mentioned, a partner account would be nice. Right now, it costs twice as much as a single account, so for two accounts it is not interesting.

I'd like to see a proton pass for a couple so that my partner and I could both us Proton with a small discount on 2 x individuals cost, please.

Clearly they don't make price for 2 users. You'll get a price for 3 to 6 users. They're not charging that much if you look at the industry prices. If you're not satisfied with pricing, there are free tiers which meet most use cases. The only way they could change pricing is by offering no free tiers...

Agreed, but not just for Proton Pass, the whole family plan is a bit much, and I wouldn't even use all of it.
Right now I only have two users (myself, and another). I would love to only have family plan for those two users, and pay a fraction of the full price for just those two, rather than the whole price for the full six.
However, what if I had seven users? What if I had 50? It would be nice to pay to add more, like in a Business account.
It would also be nice to adjust the shared storage and resources between the users, as well as to adjust plan details per product, so as to be able to mix-and-match what my family plan needs attached to it, and pay more on an itemized level, rather than on a "pay for everything and only use some of it" level (you know, like a business a account).
Not everyone needs 90 aliases, 10 domains, 3 TB storage, and 10 VPN connections per user, I only need 1 TB storage, 2 domains, Maybe 10-20 aliases, and only 5 VPN connections per user. I like Premium VPN as well and will stay on it, but what if in principal I wanted to downgrade just VPN?
However, I would happily pay for more of each of those resources if that's what I needed (you know, like a business account).
If I could have more flexibility in what I could purchase with the family plan, I don't need much for our personal email experience.
If this were the case, then I'd use the savings from the family plan to separate some of my work resources/domains/needs into, you know...another business account. :) -

Agreed! Family Plans should be charged per user just like business accounts. It would be cheaper for me to buy a business plan for the 2 users I need on the same domain.

Offering a protonmail+vpn plus bundle that is cheaper than proton unlimited for users who do not need or want large amounts of cloud storage would be greatly appreciated and would definitely increase subscriber count. I and many others cannot justify paying for features/storage they do not want and will not use. Cheaper bundles used to be available before the launch of drive.

I'm ok with the 500 mb limit. I save whatever attachments I really need. What 'd like most is a mass delete of the spam folder and the trash folder, instead of 50 at a time.

I love protonmail,
but reason im not a paid member is because you dont offer cheaper plans, i dont need all the extra features, main concern is security.
would be nice to see some minimum naked plan apart from what already there, then i would think about signing up to a paid plan.
Thank you

I only need three users having access to the features in proton pass family I will never pay 19 euro for 3 extra users I will never use

I have to say that I changed to Skiff because there I can use my own domain. And there it is for free.
I would like to return to proton but they sell many tools that I don need and don't use. It turns the yearly plan so expensive.

There's too big a leap between MailPlus & Proton Unlimited. I don't need 15 x email addresses or 10 x VPN connections or 25 calendars BUT I would very much like to have multiple vaults in my password wallet and a high-speed VPN with 2950+ servers across 65+ countries. If I upgrade to Proton Unlimited, I'm paying for loads of stuff I don't need. I'd like an interim package for 'regular' users but which gives the best-performing password wallet and VPN.

I, and many others from poorer countries, can't afford to pay 5$/month for an email provider. Considering how unnecessary most of the features in the paid plans are for most people, please think about releasing 1-2$ plan that allows to choose one or two of a few additional features.
For example, I wish to merge my old account into a new one, and therefore need to have 2 email addresses, but I certainly don't need 15GB of storage or priority support — and I can't pay for them either.

To be competitive with with the Germans: posteo, tutanota and mailbox org there should be a 1 EUR plan. Your cheapest plan is 4 EUR which is insane. You have more features, but you could make that offerer by scaling the costly features down (storage, traffic).
I could need:1-5 GB
No VPN (it doesn't make sense to have the VPN with the same provider for me, I would never use this, because ist enables you to Tracks me)
No drive
1 custom domain Roth catch all
1-5 addresses for sending -

Removes all the requests to update, the default "Sent with Proton Mail secure email." and promo's maybe an optional switch in settings.
The cost is simply a monthly donation with a minimum maybe $1-2 a month but no maximum for people that want to donate more.
Could be a good option for people that have everything they need with the base proton mail so don't have any incentive to upgrade.

I think this is a great idea. Personally I would love a plus account with VPN access too. Monthly or even yearly plans are difficult for me as I have no reliable income (I'm an unpaid carer for 2 severely disabled children). Being able to purchase a lifetime plan at a reasonable price would be the only way I could afford a secure service like this.

I can't justify the full cost. I don't need much more than the free offering - if anything. I'd pay a smaller cost for a more basic subscription, as much as to give support as anything.

I have been trying ProntonMail for months, and I would say it's really nice. I am considering the Plus plan but it's a bit expensive and I don't need that many features actually (e.g. 5 address, custom domain). If there is a Basic plan it would be better (e.g. less storage space, 1 address, no custom domain).
Or there can be bundled plan (Mail+VPN) too.

I feel a bit guilty using protonmail for free. But I am a retired individual, not a business, and don't need 5GB, 1000 messages a day, and 200 folders, for example. I would be happy with 150 mesages per day, 2 GB storage, and maybe 10 folders. I can think of a couple other things that would be nice, such as an autodelete, which I'd value more than an autoresponder. I can envision a price of perhaps $20 per year. I think there are others in my category.
