Exactly, privacy-first meetings would fit perfectly into Proton’s ecosystem.

For Proton Business customers this is most likely a very important feature as this is included in most other 'Business suite' SaaS software on the market.

In the context of future-proofing Proton as a communications app. voice is critical. text, done. The question is is Proton still focused on communications, as was its origin? IT would greatly develop its business subscription value by having an integrated phone system. Unfortunately, it is an entirely different branch of development and might be easier to acquire an existing stack.

In the interim I recommend looking at brave talk. No you don’t need the brave browser to use it. There is a chrome extension available for it that works with proton calendar as well

A privacy-focused, zero-access encryption, end-to-end encryption instant messaging app inspired by Meta's WhatsApp and other instant messaging apps also have all the features available, such as WhatsApp's voice and video calls, chat lock option.

I think using Jitsi Meet would be a viable alternative.

If Proton continues to grow its userbase and financial prospectus, this might eventually happen. However, realtime videostream encryption/decryption without significant lag in a global market requires daunting processing power and expert network engineering. I am not in the know on this, but I think Proton's data infrastructure won't be up to the task for months or years yet.
It also puts them in direct competition in that market with Google, Zoom, and Brave who is currently allowing Proton as an advertising client.
I would like to see this happen, but as of this writing, it looks way down the roadmap. -

I would add those feature:
Votes like "polls" in group chats or a votes or just message that would reach multiple contacts selected once the message or the vote is created.
Add the Briar system just in case that can be activated at our own will.
It would be great if your apps could be interoperable with other open source apps. Like emails between Proton and RiseUp would be encrypted all the same.
Maybe talk with them to use common ways to encrypt but with out anyone having to abandoned their own way for more individual strength. It's like the concept of Euro as a common currency and not unique but each country would have their own original one.

Hello,
I'm a French independant social and family economics advisor (social worker) and I'm looking for a secure videoconferencing tool. I hope Proton will offer this as part of one of its subscriptions soon.

It would be amazing if you could run Jitsi Meet (https://jitsi.org/jitsi-meet/) for your users. Then integrate this with calendar etc.

This idea is really amazing and should be implemented. I can't understand your lack of effort.

Proton Meet should be created. -

I think that creating a new product for meetings could be good. It would make it possible to avoid using insecure products like Teams or Google Meet, which spy on us when we use them. It would have to be integrated into Proton Mail and Calendar. It would be a similar solution to Zoom, but encrypted.

This or further integration with signal, those using signal regularly generate system backup locally. You have to manually upload them, what if you could use an auto sync with proton drive as a secure backup. That would be really good and improve overall experience. But also the app like signal or discord is good too

Proton Connect? Proton Call? Proton Talk? Still can't see anything on this on any road maps, but surely this is one of the most requested features here?

Since we can't always control what system is used; add support for the mosts popular ones (eg. Signal / Jitsi / Zoom / ...)

This would be amazing and i'd much prefer to use this over the zoom integration

It would be critical, from a nonprofit swiss-based organisation, to have such solution on Proton. Maybe there's an open-source solution, like Jitsi, which could be upcycled to meet Proton security standards and plugged-in?
