I'm leaning towards the 'existing alternatives' crowd. However, this is from the FUTO Homepage:
"FUTO Keyboard is currently in alpha. We want to build a stable keyboard, but in alpha you may experience bugs, crashes, or missing features."
On the upside, they do support opt-in data collection, so they can use data aggregation to improve design and performance, while nobody has to agree to a set of already-shady or alterable TOS (-=Samsung...=- ). -

Maybe this functionality should be added to Lumo. Or Proton could look into acquiring Fantastical*. Either way I don't think it's worth their while to replicate features that aren't either in high demand or considered 'industry standard.'
*[Edit]: Proton Admins, if you read this, look up the article on Fantastical in Fast Company dated October 29th, 2024 ;)

Android users can set notification sounds for specific apps. So can Windows and Linux users; don't know about iOS.
If Proton could provide crossover functionality for mobile and desktop OSes, I don't think they need to build out an integrated audio reminder feature that requires additional complexity and permissions. -

Upgraded my previous vote. The zoom link showing up in the calendar event is nice, but not being able to see my Proton Calendar scheduled calls in Zoom is problematic for me. I know that's more on Zoom than Proton, but many more busy people than those who commented or voted would benefit from and appreciate this feature being implemented.

I really need this feature; every time I create a new event, I almost always fill out the reminder slots (because I need to to task-switch and be on time) and doing this gets unpleasantly tedious sometimes. Being able to take an existing event and copy it to another slot, with reminders and notes intact, would save me much repetitive effort.

I am totally interested in a Notes app (or sub-app) connected to Drive, Docs, and Pass; I have lots of material in Samsung Notes that I would like to move but don't have a good place to store it or time to reformat it all; it is a peculiar, proprietary format, and Samsung Notes can be scanned by malware or AI since it's not encrypted.

I like this idea, it is similar to one I just put up, the 'Conversation Vault.'

Starfish already has this feature. They just took on Visa as a vendor so you can buy anything with a Visa Gift Card now. However it's currently only available for US and Canada residents. Hopefully France and the UK will give way soon.
At any rate I don't think it's worthwhile for Proton to work on this as a project, because it's something that can be done manually using cash to buy gift cards if you need to. -

If Proton continues to grow its userbase and financial prospectus, this might eventually happen. However, realtime videostream encryption/decryption without significant lag in a global market requires daunting processing power and expert network engineering. I am not in the know on this, but I think Proton's data infrastructure won't be up to the task for months or years yet.
It also puts them in direct competition in that market with Google, Zoom, and Brave who is currently allowing Proton as an advertising client.
I would like to see this happen, but as of this writing, it looks way down the roadmap. -

I think this is a good idea. However, since Proton is a privacy-focused company and ecosystem, and with that interest in mind:
• Sharing should be toggleable, and
• The context created by sharing should 'evaporate' as folders, documents, or the entire workspace are 'un-shared.'
If you value the privacy, don't cling too tightly to the metadata: That's where a lot of the problems start. -

Nice idea; a setting to toggle a static or animated (or for some people, no) icon would seem the way to go.

While I am for this, that's partially (largely?) up to Android, and as Android is part of Google (currently, there's a legal judgement on divestment that has been ruled but not finalized) and Proton is now in direct competition with Google, that is't going to happen right away.

Also I have to agree with Dan Dinh; a straight text prompt, with no animated interactive element, comes across as creepy to me, like something out of movies like "Wargames" or "Tron".

I'm going to suggest that this be merged with the "Lumo API" request; if someone can create a tool, then they can modify or create a plugin for that tool using the API. It's a big issue for the engineers to consider, especially since Lumo's, like Proton's overall architecture, is not open-source.

There is another venture that is working on that issue, but I'm hoping they might consider a merger or buyout, since they're both working toward the same goal: Privacy.

I'd call that a personal preference. A setting to turn off the graphic would do.
There are some users who are either wistfully (or hopelessly) nostalgic, and others who enjoy novelty or good branding. Personally I still miss "MagicSpell for ICQ", the first animated desktop assistant.
This is neither a 'critical' legal issue nor "dramatic soap opera" "sensationalism." The implication of the 'Unlimited' moniker is what was explicitly promised to those wise and fortunate Visionary subscribers: [paraphrasing from memory] "Unrestricted access to all future Proton features and services." Whether or not it is legally false advertising is a disputable, and therefore not highly defensible, point.
Good arguments on both sides have been forwarded, and I'm not foolish or arrogant enough to say that either position is meritless or absolutely sound. Personally, I'm one of those who narrowly missed becoming a 'Visionary' account holder due to life events and priorities, and would like to see a middle ground between being given zero consideration over free users and a 'free ticket' to a service that requires a lot of talent, work-hours, infrastructure, and energy to develop, deliver, and maintain.
In short, I think Proton should offer its 'second-line' Unlimited subscribers a deal - but not a freebie - on Lumo Plus.
