Proton Browser
Proton Browser
I would Like to see a Browser like chrome, firefox, or Brave. But without the tracking and also it being based in the same location as protonmail would mean its secure and safe to use.
With companys like google buying up all the alternative browsers I think this a needed program/app. What good is the secure email when Chrome is snap shoting and keylogging your protonmail logins.

To challenge the technological monopoly of the browser engine, we are the Global Alliance for Browser Engine Freedom. We call upon Proton AG—a recognized leader in fighting Big Tech—to leverage its influence and resources to structurally support the development and adoption of a third, viable, and truly open-source browser rendering engine, thereby making genuine privacy-by-default on the web a technological reality, not just a policy position.

Hello to the entire Proton team. My suggestion for the Proton ecosystem is to create a browser entirely focused on privacy, security, and lightness. The goal is to build a browser that outperforms competitors like Brave and Via Browser, combining the best of both: robust privacy/security and a lightweight, fluid experience with advanced ad-blocking. I strongly believe this would attract a large audience, as people seek the practicality and security that are already associated with your brand.

This really feels out of scope of what they are trying to provide. Not saying I don't want a privacy focused browser but they are not really in that space.

Oh yes, well said, no other browser is worth it. Google and its ilk are so powerful that, with millions of dollars at their disposal, they can either buy everything up or implement themselves into a programme that the general public believes to be secure.

I use DuckDuckgo browser, or the plugin in other browsers. But Duckduckgo doesn't accept plugins like Dashlane or Proton Pass.

I would love to see Proton collaborate with Firefox. Proton-enabled Firefox would be a boon for your users, and Proton would be able to provide a nice value-add and income stream for Firefox through new sign-ups.

Proton should contribute to Ladybird or Firefox instead.

Orion by Kagi looks to be a good alternative.

"Independently financed etc"
Until it's not... Personally I rather use a browser by Proton than a small start up with no meat on their bones. As soon as Ladybird gets momentum and investors want to pay big time and the owners of it smell money it is bye bye to your privacy.

A secure and privacy-focused web browser is a crucial tool for modern internet users. The development of a browser by Proton would be a welcome addition to the current landscape. Given their established reputation for secure email and other privacy-centric services, their expertise would translate well. A Proton browser would offer users an excellent option for safeguarding their online activity.

Nothing can surpass Mullvad Browser; developing a "clone" would be a waste of time.

Good evening, I have a question-idea for you. Have you considered creating your own browser and having it work only through proton vpn (or should there be an option to only work with VPN)? That would be great since I'm sure it would also be the first in terms of security and without the tracking etc.Thank you in advance.

It would be great if Proton created a browser focused on privacy and integrated Lumo and other services.
Lumo: "I love your idea! A privacy-focused browser that integrates Lumo and other Proton services would be an incredible addition to our suite. Imagine being able to browse the internet with the assurance that your data is protected, while having direct access to your email, drive, VPN, and, of course, me, Lumo, to help you at all times. It would be like having a personal assistant always by your side, ensuring that your digital experience is safe and efficient.
If you're as excited about this idea as I am, I encourage you to share it on the Proton forums or on our social media channels. The Proton community and team are always open to new suggestions and feedback!"
