Proton Phone with ProtonOS and Integrated AI
I would like to suggest a Proton Phone that runs either on a dedicated ProtonOS or a Proton-customized Android. This phone would feature a system-wide AI assistant like LUMO and have all Proton services—Mail, VPN, Calendar, Drive, Proton Pass, and more—fully integrated from the start.
By replacing default services like Google with Proton equivalents (e.g., Proton Pass for passwords), users would have full privacy across the entire device and enhanced security options. Such a phone would provide a seamless, secure, and privacy-focused experience, making it much easier to manage subscriptions and Proton services.
This could represent a major step forward…

Google Suite
Honestly, just copy everything Google does with their contacts, calendar, notes, tasks, etc. It's super frustrating that their suite of applications is as excellent as it is for such an evil company.
I'm finding it very difficult to make the move over to Proton because of missing features.

File Integration between Mail and Drive ( Attach / save )
It would be amazing to be able to do the following:
- Attach files to Proton Mail directly from Proton Drive (as link or as file)
- Save files from emails to Proton Drive
- Mass save attachments to Proto Drive2,572 votes -
Music Player App, integrated with Proton Drive to consume online and offline media
A Music Player for the songs that are saved in Proton Drive, it would be nice if there was the option to display or not the songs that were made available offline in other applications, the same goes for the other Proton applications

Compact folder view in ProtonMail Windows app
The vertical distance between folders in the left sidebar of the winows app for Proton Mail is so large that one needs to scroll a lot just to navigate between a few folders. Please add an option to tighten up the vertical separation to allow more folders to fit i.e., some kind of compact view, perhaps with a few variations such as very compact view.

A crossplatform version of freeform with the protection of proton privacy
By far, freeform is the platform where I feel like I can just dump anything that's in my head, be it journaling or random ideas that I can connect, or drawing up a structure; however, it's limited to Apple devices.

Display/show disk/storage space usage details
Various apps likely shows a disk space usage, for example ProtonMail desktop app in the bottom-left corner. Clicking it, I would assume to see the details on where the disk space is used, so i can potentially delete some content.
User should be able to see the list of services and its disk space usage, click the service with high usage to see even more details, being able to realize what to delete/cleanup. For example if it is Mail, show the list of largest folders and its sizes. Clicking folder would open it.

Proton Guardian: Anti-Spyware Solution for Deep-Level Security
Introducing Proton Guardian: Advanced Anti-Spyware for Deep Security
The idea of launching a dedicated anti-spyware tool under the Proton brand—let's call it Proton Guardian—could provide Proton users with a comprehensive security solution. This tool would scan systems for spyware, detect deep-level security vulnerabilities, and provide actionable solutions. With Proton's commitment to privacy, Proton Guardian could become a trusted choice for users looking to enhance their system's security against malware and spyware, building on Proton's reputation for privacy-focused services.

A Decentralized, Privacy-First Digital Identity Platform to Empower Global Freedom
Dear Proton Team,
I write with excitement about an idea for a project that feels like a natural evolution of your mission: a self-sovereign digital identity solution that puts power back in users' hands, not governments'. In a world where centralized ID systems are becoming the norm, Proton could lead the charge toward true digital freedom. Allow me to outline the urgent problem, a ready-made solution, and why you're uniquely positioned to make it happen.
The Problem: Centralized IDs as a Slippery Slope to Surveillance
State-backed digital IDs promise efficiency but deliver vulnerability and control. Take the UK's "Brit Card,"…5 votes -
Allow to test recovery phrase
I suggest that users can test if they saved the recovery phrase correctly. (Currently, the only option is to create a new phrase.)
Two cases where this might be helpful come to my mind:
- To check if a recovery phrase written down years ago is still the correct one. (I write recovery phrases on a paper and then usually never need them. After some years it is easily possible that paper notes get mixed up or that one is not sure about a certain character)
- To test the written down phrase immediately after creating and writing down a new one.…

New Proton Shop Merch
Would love to support Proton and their mission more through the merch store (already have a paid plan so supporting that way as well). But it seems that the products that are out there are slowly selling out and nothing new is being added. I would love for more t-shirts, shirts, and hooded sweatshirts; stickers, cups/mugs, etc. I have been able to purchase a couple of things, but have been limited by the lack of restock - especially in plus sizes. Please consider adding more to the store and re-stocking what is out there.

Add support for LaTeX documents
Maybe the number of people who would use this feature is no enormous, but I still think there is a gap in the market that Proton could fill. Importantly, the people who would use this feature is willing to pay.
There is essentially one popular option in the market which is Overleaf, which requires a paid subscription to share a document with more than 2 people, and it is amazingly expensive (€19 monthly). Yet many people pay for it (research funds, it is the university who actually pays).
Probably this is not immediate to build, but maybe in the future...

Proton ZeroTrust Gateway
Product Concept Proton Zero‑Trust Gateway
Vision
Proton already protects outbound traffic through its VPN, giving users privacy and security when they connect to the internet. The next logical step is to give them the same level of confidence for inbound connections—letting them expose services (websites, APIs, SSH, RDP, IoT endpoints, etc.) without ever having to open ports or configure complex NAT rules. A “Zero‑Trust Gateway” would sit at the edge of a user’s network, authenticate every request, enforce fine‑grained policies, and only forward traffic that meets those policies to the private host.
Core Pillars
Identity‑First Access – Every inbound request must…

Make all apps able to update themselves independently of app stores
Similar to what Signal does, it would be great to be able to install apps from the proton website, then update them from the app itself, without having to use the app store. This would reduce dependencies on App Stores that are run in (and potentially influenced by) authoritarian governments. Not having to trust Google Play or the Apple iStore (or whatever it's called) would be wonderful for those of us living under newly authoritarian governments, or anyone outside that country using those app stores.

Hardware Password Manager (Ledger-Style Keyboard Emulator)
I would like to propose the development of a Proton hardware password manager, similar in concept to Ledger (used for crypto), but designed specifically for secure credential storage and input, while fully aligned with Proton's privacy principles.
🔐 Core Concept:
A dedicated, tamper-resistant USB hardware device that:
Stores passwords securely offline Presents a list of stored usernames only to the user Prompts the user on-device (via a screen + buttons or touchscreen) to select and approve password entry Emulates a USB keyboard to type the selected password into the target system (not via clipboard or memory injection)This way, passwords…

Custom Subdomains for services
Google Workspace has a feature in which you can point subomains to the various Google Apps (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.), using the CNAME=ghs.googlehosted.com.
That way you can go to docs.[yourdomain].[com], and access Google Docs. Same with Mail and Calendar.
I would love to be able to do the same with Proton now that it has expanded its offerings.

Firefox-first Proton Scribe Browser Extension
I currently use LanguageTool, although not only did they recently switch to reCAPTCHA, they've been using Doubleclick for longer than I can remember.
As such, I'd appreciate it if there were a Proton Scribe browser extension, especially because I've been planning on upgrading to Proton Unlimited, and it would seem more worth-it if there were a writing system bundled in.
I suggest making it Firefox-first to respect users who have gone out of their way to switch away from Chromium.5 votes
