Improve app versioning in protonapps.com
Hello,
First off, thanks to the Proton team for having such an amazing resource for us to easily download apps from (https://protonapps.com/). I have a suggestion for improvement please.
Could you add the app version to the actual file name of all apps you allow direct download so that we know when we should download a new version of the app?
For example, Proton Pass .deb and .rpm files both have a generic name: ProtonPass.deb and ProtonPass.rpm and this doesn't help us figure out the current app version.
Adding the app version would also mean that we could…

Hardware Password Manager (Ledger-Style Keyboard Emulator)
I would like to propose the development of a Proton hardware password manager, similar in concept to Ledger (used for crypto), but designed specifically for secure credential storage and input, while fully aligned with Proton's privacy principles.
🔐 Core Concept:
A dedicated, tamper-resistant USB hardware device that:
Stores passwords securely offline Presents a list of stored usernames only to the user Prompts the user on-device (via a screen + buttons or touchscreen) to select and approve password entry Emulates a USB keyboard to type the selected password into the target system (not via clipboard or memory injection)This way, passwords…

Authenticator as a web application
I work in an environment that doesn’t allow application installs and doesn’t allow my personal device. I’d still like to be able to use 2FA so it would be nice to have Authenticator as a web application, no app to install. I could use Ente Auth for this but would trust Proton more.

Subject: Feature proposal – “Proton Phone” built on Pixel 7
Hi Proton Team,
I’m a long‑time Proton user and recently explored turning a Pixel 7 into a dedicated “Proton phone” that makes Proton Mail, VPN, Drive, Pass, and Calendar the native, system‑level experience.
Key points of the concept:
- Hardened OS base (GrapheneOS) with verified boot and Titan M security.
- Proton apps installed as system apps for privileged permissions.
- Auto‑connect Proton VPN with kill‑switch, default mail/calendar handlers, and a unified “Proton Settings” UI.
- Optional Magisk module for seamless OTA updates of Proton apps.
- Full‑device encryption, firewall rules, and minimal bloatware.I’ve drafted a step‑by‑step implementation plan and would…

Proton Rumble channel to mirror YouTube
Proton should create an official Rumble channel and upload its YouTube videos there as well.
Over the past several years, Rumble has established itself as a YouTube alternative that is solidly pro-freedom, anti-censorship, and NOT OWNED BY GOOGLE!
It might be necessary to be on YouTube to attract the most eyeballs, but many people who use platforms like Rumble to distance themselves from Big Tech are the same users who will resonate with Proton's privacy-conscious mission.
The amount of extra effort it takes to upload content to a 2nd platform is miniscule compared to the time and expense invested in…

General Link Tracking Protection
Hi team!
I know that removal of tracking IDs in emails is currently being worked on, and I think this is a great feature that I can't wait to see fully implemented, but I think proton can take it further and clean links outside of the proton ecosystem. There are a couple of apps that currently try to do this (Léon URL Cleaner, Link Sanitizer and, URLCheck) and they are all very immature implementations. As proton is already creating the mechanisms to complete this function from email, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to expand the capability to…

Acquire Obsidian! Would be a game changers for full privacy suite
New Documents feature really opened an opportunity for me to get away from Google and Microsoft and enjoy privacy.
Its a great start but limited. Just throwing out the idea, what if Proton acquired or partnered with Obsidian https://obsidian.md/ another privacy first organization.
This would be a game changer. Please consider.

Need a feature to manually pick "icons" for our codes in the new standalone Authenticator app
As the title suggests. The app is new and lacks this basic feature. When I create an 2FA secret, it just selects the service icons itself and I can't manually change the icons to my liking. Please add a way for us to change it.
Also the Authenticator app seems to lacks many services icons please add them.

Regional price for the Student Discount
It would be great if Proton added regional pricing to the student discount. By adjusting the cost based on the local cost of living, the plan would become much more affordable for students in different countries.
In Brazil, for example, paying R$319 for an annual Unlimited plan is quite expensive for most students.5 votes -
Hide photo's already in albums
When you have put photo's in albums, I'd like to hide them from my main photo view so I know which photo's I still need to organize.
With google you could archive your photo's, that worked because they would still be in albums, but not visible in the main photo's view.
I would like something similar, I think having a button that hides photo's that have already been organized, or some kind of organize view with more options like this would be really helpful.

Let users choose which emails trigger notifications (by sender, recipient/alias , label, or folder)
User story:
As a Proton Mail user, I want to CONTROL WHICH EMAILS TRIGGER PUSH NOTIFICATIONS so that I’m only alerted about messages that require my immediate attention.
I want to enable notifications only for certain senders, recipients/aliases, labels, or folders, so I don’t get distracted by unimportant emails.
I also want the option to REVERSE this logic—receiving notifications only for emails that aren’t labelled or sorted, such as personal or unexpected messages.
Ultimately, a filter system for notifications, giving users the same flexibility they already have for organising their inboxes.
This would make notifications more relevant, REDUCE NOISE, and…

Video Chats
Launch a Video Chat Room similar to Zoom, Meet, and others. But unlike others, Proton can apply the best encryption and security.

Lock Session Functionality
When using Proton Mail on a laptop, it’s often convenient to keep the session open to avoid re-entering the password and 2FA code every time. However, this can become a security concern, especially on shared or work computers.
I propose introducing a “Lock Session” feature, a temporary lock that can be unlocked using a quick PIN (similar to Proton VPN). This would allow users to secure their active session without having to go through the full login process again.

Please remove the "END-OF-SUMMER SALE" ads from the Web Mail appbar
In the WebMail appbar I now see this ads "END-OF-SUMMER SALE". If I wanted intrusive ads in my mail I would have stayed with Gmail.

Add integration to home assistant
Working with Nubu Casa, it would be really useful to get all the apps integrated securely with Home assistant. Google calendar already has an integration. The ability to fire off automations when an email arrives, an event is happening, a new file has been added to the drive or if the VPN Disconnects for example.

Freeform + Standard Notes = Proton Notes
Proton acquired Standard Notes but has yet to integrate it into Proton's Office Suite both technically and subscription-wise. Also, Apple released the Freeform app a few years ago which is honestly the best hand-writing program ever released on a tablet.
If Proton is planning on upgrading and integrating Standard Notes into the Proton Drive suite, it should also include a handwriting feature similar to Apple's Freeform so people can handwrite their notes or draw on their tablets (within an encrypted space of course).
Also include a dark mode because Freeform doesn't have this yet and the bright light of the…
