Proton Pass & Authenticator

  1. Storing PGP keys in Proton Pass

Proton Pass already stores SSH keys and can use them using Proton Pass CLI with it's integrated SSH Agent, I think a PGP integration too would be amazing as it would allow managing and maybe even using PGP keys, maybe from the CLI too, with Proton Pass without having to rely on outside tools, and having a secure place to keep PGP keys in synced between devices.

  2. Assign a custom name or alias to an authenticator entry

Assign a custom name or alias to an authenticator entry. I have multiple authenticator tokens from a single vendor and they are displayed with the default name. I also have a token with a completely different name (holding instead of actual company) which I would like to change into something that actually means something to me.

  4. Encrypted file attachments on export

When exporting data from Proton Pass in the encrypted PGP format with the "Include file attachments" option enabled, the resulting ZIP file contains attachments that remain unencrypted. This means that while the main vault data is encrypted, the attachments within the ZIP file are not.

Currently, Proton Pass does not offer an option to encrypt or password-protect the ZIP file containing the attachments.

  5. Two Passwords to Avoid the Hammer Attack Scenario

I would like to see the option in Proton Pass to use "either" of two passwords.

If you use password #1 Proton Pass would work as it usually does.

If you use Password #2, Proton Pass would only display certain records that have been tagged by the user.

The purpose of this would be to help prevent a successful "Wrench Attack".

If threatened physically to log into your account, you could use password #2 and minimize the loss of your data.

This would be similar to methods used on some crypto wallets. Here's an article on Wrench Attacks for reference.

  6. Password‑Change Reminder

It would be very useful if Proton Pass could include a built‑in reminder that notifies users to change a password after a custom interval.
    • Adjustable interval: Users set the number of days/weeks/months before they receive a reminder.
    • Filterable view: As with all stored entries, the passwords subject to reminders can be filtered by category, tags, or expiration date.
    This addition would boost security

  7. to obscure the “Note” field

I would like to suggest a feature for Proton Pass.

The suggestion is to add the option to obscure the “Note” field with a button similar to the “Hide/Show” button in the ‘Password’ field, in addition to the option to start with the “Note” field obscured.

    Thank you.

  9. Protecting a secure link with a password

It would be great if we could additionally protect a secure link with a password. This would prevent anyone who happens to have the link or virus scanners that check every link in an email from accessing the sensitive data directly.

  11. Personal data/identity per login

It would be great if you could track per login what personal information / identity was given in a structured manner (not just notes).

    For example:
    - which phone number was used
    - which address was used
    - which bank card was used
    - and/or which identity profile was used

This would make it easy to track which logins need to be updated with new information in the case of:
    - changing phone number
    - moving to a new adress
    - moving to a new bank (card/account)

  12. Authenticator: Click to show code. Hide all by default.

Currently, android Proton Authencator can work in one of two modes:
    1. Hide all codes and never display the code in the UI (even when clicked).
    2. Show all codes at all times.

    But this is not enough.

If you hide all your codes, you can only copy the code to the clipboard and use it on your phone/device. If you show all codes, you expose yourself to over-the-shoulder snooping.

A very common use case is that someone wants to keep all codes hidden by default but reveal a particular code when it's time to use it, when the user…

  13. Additional information active sessions

In the 'security and privacy'-section in the settingsmenu I would like to see a additional column called 'device'. Per active session you're now able to see 'App', 'Date' and 'Action' (revoke). But I'm not able to see which session is active on which device or browser. For example; I've Proton Pass on my Iphone 16 Pro and my iPhone 16se. But it's not visible, so I have to guess which is the right one. A extra column 'device' can help.

  14. Allow sharing with more than 2 free users while on paid plan

I am a subscribed Proton user, I made free Proton accounts for my family and shared a vault with two of them and they were able to accept it fine, but the rest cannot because they're "free users"

I can't have everyone in my family subscribe to Proton Pass just because I want to share a simple vault with them even though they don't use Proton Pass to begin with

What is the point of having extra allowance for sharing while on a paid plan if it'll only work with other paid users? It's not like every single person I'll…

  15. Add OAuth login linking feature that allows users to specify alternative OAuth sign-in methods (Google, Microsoft, etc.) for each stored acc

Add a comprehensive OAuth integration system that allows users to:
    Core Functionality:

Link existing password entries to OAuth providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple, GitHub, etc.)
Specify which OAuth account should be used for each service (e.g., "login to example.com using my work Google account john@company.com")
Support accounts originally created through social login that never had a traditional password
Manage multiple OAuth accounts for the same service

    User Experience:

When accessing a linked account, Proton Pass automatically suggests OAuth login instead of password autofill
One-click switching between traditional password and OAuth authentication methods
Visual indicators showing which accounts have OAuth alternatives…

  16. Unlocking browser extension when unlocking the desktop app (connect Proton Pass desktop with Proton Pass in the browser)

IMO it would be great if you could connect the Proton Pass desktop app with the browser extension.

(Coming from 1Password it's a feature I'm missing. That's the name of the setting there:
"Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app: When the extension and the desktop app are connected, they lock and unlock together. Biometrics will be used if available.")

  17. Drag and drop/sorting fields with mouse

It would be nice to have the possibility to drag fields within an element. Right now, if I want to change the order of fields like e-mail, password or custom fields like name, text, hidden text etc., I need to delete a field and add a new one. So please add the option to drag and drop fields within an element (like a login, a note etc.).

  18. Password Groups

I would love to see a feature that would allow apparently duplicate passwords to be grouped or linked such that the Pass Monitor doesn't read them as duplicates between only those passwords yet still keeps an eye out for duplication between the group and other passwords not included in the group. The best example I have of this is Disney, who allows users to log in to all their brands (Hulu, ESPN, Nat Geo, etc.) with username and password. Right now, I have all those under one entry in Proton Pass, but I would prefer to have them separated just…

  19. ability to hide vault

Hey! It would be very nice if I could hide from autosuggestions specific vault. I a have a shared vault by my business account and when I am logged in with my private I don't need those suggestions. This vault is shared only because of security reasons.

  20. After deleting a Proton Auth, save credentials for up to 48h before permanent deletion.

The other app (Authy) has a feature that when you delete an authy it stores it for up to 48h. This ensures that if you delete something it doesnt cause a permanent mess. Proton Authentificator should add the same feature, saving credentials 48h after deletion.
