Username Generator
Some websites just don't need to know a name that can identify you across services. Being able to generate usernames for these cases is very useful.
Example: On Uservoice I just wanna upvote ideas that I like. The choice of username changes nothing. Therefore a randomized, meaningless name is preferable to stay anonymous.
That's why I used Bitwarden's username generator for this. Proton Pass should have one too

In this feature I'd generally like to enhance the feature of the proton pass alias kind of. The Alias feature already allows auto generating an email for a new Item.
I'd like to request that I can add auto generation for my email address ( my protonmail ) with plus addressed emails and usernames in different combinations:
- Generate random username ( ben128371, nob90021, or whatever rly. )
- Generate random plus addressed email ( myname+as9d9a9@protonmail.com )
- Generate title based plus addressed email ( myname+logintitle@protonmail.com )
- Generate random email for catch all mails, if possible ( asd98as9@domain.com )There's several feature requests that requests things covered in here. My need would be for the random plus addressed mail and that I didn't find. So I produced a new request congerating the requests I found for other Login credential generation.

I also want this feature into Proton Pass.
In fact, it is "just" a clone of Alternative ID of Surfshark: https://surfshark.com/alternative-idI am a long-time user of Proton, I do not want to use other service to handle such kind of data.
Furthermore, an equivalent of Alternative number could be nice, but the simple solution for now is just to buy another mobile phone number.

A short memorable "password" works just fine as an arbitrary username. It's what I did here for Uservoice.

We basically had the same idea ! I wrote up a post about it, but didn't publish to avoid duplicates. Here's the text.
Websites often ask for your first and last name, as well as your birthdate. When making a purchase, even for digital goods, they ask your full legal adress.
While Proton Pass does have an alias generator, this is useless if you end up giving your name and address.
I would love it if in the new Identities tool, You could have a "anonymous" profile where it would each time generate a new alias, a new name and last name, and a new address.
Also, it would be nice if you could specify your zip code and country that would remain the same, because the zip code is used for card verification, but the rest of the address is actually not used.
I also believe this should be two or three different modes.
The first one will be spoofing. So for the name you will try to just type "NAME". For the last name you will just try to type "NAME". For the address you will just put " STREET", "CITY", etc. So you will not pretend to be someone random, you just pretend to not want to put your information.
The second one could be just the same info for everyone, so like "Random Nonexistent Name, Adress (at a Proton mailbox)".
And the third one will be just a random address and a random name.Of course I understand that some of these regions might not be possible for Proton to implement for legal reasons. But I believe that generating random non-existent names and addresses should at least be possible and the minimum that should be implemented. I also believe it is the user responsibility to use these tools appropriately.
Some might say that you could already do all of this yourself, but always finding random names that are different is difficult and using tools on the web takes a lot of time.
What does the community think ? I believe this could really put Proton ahead in a comprehensive tool for identity management!

Yes, this would be great. And all it needs really is another option in the password generator called 'username' (like the 'random password' and 'memorable password' options). I feel like this is a necessity these days with how many things you have to login to.

Please! What's the point of hiding my email address when I end up giving away my name during sign up.

This would be a very nice feature. I am using Bitwarden to generate usernames but I prefer to use only one password manager.

Some websites use a username and password instead of an email. I would like to see a username generator for these websites as I would like to use different aliases for each website to improve my privacy, this would be a great addition to the password manager.

this would be a huge time saver for me. Also, a random Name (like first and last name) and physical address generator suggested here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass/suggestions/47410232-random-name-first-last-and-address-generator

During account creation many websites either require or provide the option to include your first/last name or shipping/billing address.
To increase privacy I want ProtonPass to recognize these fields and give me the option of inserting my saved Identity (request: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass/suggestions/46850884-support-identities) or to insert a random generated first/last name, and/or random shipping/billing address. This information would be saved with ProtonPass record.
This would save me so much time during account creation and during checkouts.
Virtual Credit Cards allow users to mask their name and billing address, which is another reason random generators of these kind would be useful.
This request also compliments the random username generator request here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass/suggestions/47027815-username-generator

Hello!
Can you please add a feature to generate a random usernames?
Not every site uses email as login. Some websites need email + username.
This feature already exists in your competitors:
