How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Share passwords with a link and optional expiry

    Share a password with someone who doesn't have Proton Pass and auto expire and delete the "shared" link in X days.

    Build an SSH Agent for Linux-based operating systems so we can use our SSH keys right out of the vault without having to install them into the filesystem.

  3. Dedicated 2FA screen

    Add a 2FA menu or filter that will only display codes in a list with websites or logins for which the user added 2FA tokens. Similar to how other authenticator apps show a list and live code expiry countdown. This could be either a separate button in the menu or as mentioned, a simple filter.

  5. Support other languages in memorable password generator

    The memorable password generator is great but is difficult to memorize the passwords to non speaking English persons.
    It will be great if it can use other languages

  6. Form Fill Shortcut

    Needs a shortcut to fill out forms automatically like Ctrl-Shift-L that Bitwarden has. This feature is critical when you use only a keyboard for browsing.

  7. Credit card autofill from the web app

    I've just started using Proton Pass. It's a great addition to the Proton family of products. However it doesn't seem to enable the storage of credit card info and the automatic filling out of payment forms, as do other managers like 1Pass or LastPassword. Is that a feature that will be added in the near future? Otherwise, I can't see myself switching from 1Pass to Proton Pass. Thx!

  8. Fully offline mode with cloud synced option

    I would like to see Proton Pass have an option for a fully offline password manager toggle. During the initial setup, it should allow you to pick between Proton Pass servers, or a way to make an end to end encrypted password that would be used to store a copy of the vault's data on iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox etc. Then an option to make the password manager fully offline.   9. Forward alias to more than main account email

    You can create multiple alias linked to multiple account but you can only use one "forward to" email.
    Why not having a feature to allow adding other email address, for accounts previously created with another emails we can update the login email by using alias but we must have the forward to email not static.

    In 1Password I have categories to find quickly what I need. You should add it too. Without it, I cannot transfer to PP.

  11. Ability to archive passwords (instead of delete)

    Add the right click option to "Archive" a password, vs Delete, like in 1Password. Sometimes it's nice to look back at an old logins.

  12. Desktop app should start in, minimize to and close to system tray

    Proton Pass Desktop should have the capability to start at boot, minimize and close to the Windows system tray. It should also minimize after copying a password or username. [All these features are available in Bitwarden]

  17. Create login from alias

    When I am on a "sign up" page and at the email field I select "Hide My Email" to create an alias, create a login with that alias and autofill the password field on the form.

    I currently have to go and copy the email alias, and create a login, create a password, copy password and go paste the password into the form. Automating this process would be ideal.

  18. Customize special characters and emojis in password generator

    There needs to be a way to exclude Special Characters as some sites don’t support the #, ^, % or other certain special characters. There should be a box next to each special character that can be checked or unchecked.

    So it might look like

    Also some Special Characters are missing from the password generator.

    At the moment the special characters that the Password Generator generates is:

  19. Show entropy and how many years to hack the password in the password generator and in the saved logins.

    It would be awesome to see the entropy of a password created in the password generator. Along with seeing how many characters the password is and how many years it would take to hack. Lastly this feature should extend to created logins and also when a hidden field is created the user can enable the hidden field to act like a password. Which would then show the entropy and how strong the hidden field is.
