  1. Add an expiration date to password

    A feature that exists in keepass.
    Once the password expired, proton pass could show a notification warning the user that the password should be changed

  3. Email alias signatures

    Add signature to the generated email aliases.

    Problem: when an email that uses catch-all is exposed, bad actors could try to send spam to addresses that are not tied to a specific website or service (like when using website@mydomain.com).

    Signatures in the alias would make it so that any email that does not match the signature is rejected. If the alias is modified (like when trying to guess an email to send to my domain), the email is simply discarded.

    The alias could look like the following: webiste-{signature}@mydomain.com

  4. Allow to reuse alias

    Right now if I create an alias for a website it only allows me to use that alias once. If I create a second account then it says that I cannot use that alias again (when using proton pass to fill in an email)

    I use website@personaldomain.tld for my aliases and it is fine for me to have multiple accounts use the same email address on the same website. So please allow for that.

  5. Choose default view

    Two features on Apple Notes I like are folders and locking individual notes. Folders are basically vaults in Pass, but the advantage in Notes is that when you’re in the folder it’ll remain your default folder every time you open the app. I find Pass’s all vault view very busy, and when I have private notes I have to be mindful when opening the app.
    Locking individual notes in Apple Notes is a great feature. I know Pass can require biometrics or pin to open the app but it would be helpful to still be able to lock individual notes…

  6. List of re-used emails & usernames

    Using email aliases or randomly created usernames is an added security layer. Hence, besides re-used passwords, I would like to see lists of re-used emails and usernames.

  9. Request user identification or action for each item extraction

    Proton pass contains (by construction) my most important secrets, so I really do not want any of them to be possible to extract without my consent, even if some device gets compromised. In case anything on my machine is compromised, I still want this to be of as limited impact as possible, by making sure that as few items as possible can be extracted.

    Would it be possible to add an additional optional layer of security, for example asking the user to strongly authenticate (with a FIDO2 device for example) to "unlock" secret extraction on a per item basis?

  10. Browser Extension Auto-Positioning (currently cuts-off at bottom of page)

    Currently if you are say, signing up for a newsletter and the email entry form is stickied to the bottom of the webpage, Proton Pass will still display underneath the form, causing it to be cut off.

  12. See whole title in Chrome extension

    The Chrome Proton Pass extension displays a very limited number of characters of the login title. If I want to see the full title, I have to click the edit button.

    It would be very useful to allow us to see the whole title. Perhaps by displaying it in a tooltip upon mouse over.

  13. Account Audit Functionality

    What I'm suggesting is some functionality to allow you to audit what information each company has about you. Say you have a log in for your bank. They probably have quite a lot of accurate personal information about you, such as your full legal name, address, phone number, and a significant amount of financial information. Maybe they also have some sort of legal ID number for you too. If they are breached, you would want to know exactly what's at stake.

  14. Option to disable desktop automatic updates

    Currently Proton Pass for (Windows) Desktop automatically updates itself without any kind of warning or permission requested.

    I would like to have granular options similar to what's found in other software that offers automatic updates:

    1. Automatically keep software up to date. (No prompts)
    2. Prompt me before installing update.
    3. Disable automatic updates.

  15. Rotation Policy

    The ability to add a rotation policy to logins (e.g., change every 90 days).
    A reminder when a login is about to "expire" or has "expired" (not in compliance with the policy), or some method of filtering by policy compliance.

    Like an airplane taking off, maybe a car? Seems like the icons could be changed to reflect categories a bit better. Aesthetically they could be improved as well. Like more color or details.

  17. Export data in format CSV or JSON readable and importable from other password managers

    Currently, if I export my data from ProtonPass, for example, in CSV format, I cannot import it into other password managers like Strongbox, KeepassXC, or Bitwarden. That's because the username login data is in the "email" field instead of the "username" one as it should be.
    Thus, Bitwarden, for example (but it's the same for the password as mentioned above managers), leaves the username field empty after the import, and it's not possible to intervene on the single fields before the import process ends.

  18. Make Pass store passwords for Proton Drive files

    Recently I have shared several files using Proton Drive. Each time the Pass extension gave me a strong password, but then Pass suggested that I replace the main Proton account password with the new one, which only protects the shared link.

    Pass could be smarter and at least for Proton Drive it can see what the user is doing. It would be better to suggest saving the filename or shared link in Pass, but not changing the main Proton password.

    I think Pass can work well with Drive. Saving and sharing passwords with Pass would allow users to benefit from…
