Proton Pass - Password Manager
How about a service like LastPass or 1Password to make it easy to store all passwords and secure notes either online and synced with other computers and devices, or locally on one device. A secure password manager using the best of ProtonMail/ProtonVPN services

Down vote. Seems silly with so many good password managers out there and so many other things for them to focus on, like MAIL!

Downvote - too many good password managers out there. If ProtonMail does everything, it won't be good at anything.

1Password can be set up to be end to end encrypted, and give you full control of the file, even only ever allowing synchronization over the local network. The program/app can just act as a client to read the file

i think there are far to many other password managers available already. they are all encrypted, secure and reliable. also, the people the work at those services do it as their full time job which is much better than a company that makes a password manager on the side.

Proton should make a password manager, just not apart of ProtonMail itself. Perhaps, ProtonPass?

I don't get why the password manager should be tied to Protonmail specifically. There are so many options out there already that use end-to-end encryption, including the easy-to-use Encryptr (made by Spideroak) and KeepassXC, which is open source, let's you decide how to sync your database and has browser plugin integration via PassIfox and ChromeIPass. There's also Keepass and many others...

If I could vote more than 3 on this, I would.. This feature would be very useful for me.

Why not? A Password Manager from the ProtonMail?

2 factor would be a nice feature.
would be interesting to see how it fits into the system since you have a password and mailbox decryption passphrase. i guess the 2 factor would be used side by side with the login password and you still need to then supply the mailbox key.
a further enhancement may even be to restrict logins from locations like how some sites let you block by country. Obviously an attacker may use a proxy/vpn to gain a local region IP but it can help general attempts to use your account if the credentials were stolen.
but for now i am up for hearing about 2 factor and if that would help the system or if it would over complicate it and open a different set of security issues.

This would be useful, but I wouldn't use if for storing my passwords (there's other solutions to that).

Not usefull, there is a lot of other services dedicated to that

You really ought to use a password manager. The idea of an encrypted notepad for other purposes is good, though.

Have you guys thought about keeping notes in a Draft?

An encrypted notepad to write down anything, for example all my passwords

I would like to see an authenticator APP for iOS or Android that generates an authentication code on your smartphone as a second level of credentialing access to proton mail web ui. Google uses an authenticator for its email clients.
