Proton Pass browser extension keyboard shortcuts
The browser extension of Proton Pass currently only allows to auto-fill passwords with the iframe popup that appears over the login input fields. While this works fine, this popup is distracting and time-consuming to manually click it with the mouse.
Thus, I suggest to add keyboard shortcuts that can be customized in the browser settings. For me personally, autofill of the last used login-credentials for the current page would be the most important feature to get a shortcut, but password/alias generation or manual lock etc would also be nice to have as shortcuts, too.2 votes -
Toggle to Display Password Characters with Position Numbers
Some websites ask for specific characters of a password (e.g., “enter the 3rd and 5th characters”). It would be helpful if Proton Pass could optionally display passwords broken down into individual characters with their position numbers, controlled via a toggle.

Ability to choose vault when creating a new item
When creating a new login entry in Proton Pass, there is currently no option to directly select the target vault. The entry is always created in the active/default vault, and if it belongs elsewhere, I need to move it manually afterward.
It would be much more convenient and efficient if Proton Pass allowed choosing the vault at the moment of creating a new login entry. This reduces mistakes and saves time, especially for users who work with multiple vaults.

Add a button to minimize the ProtonPass autofill pop-up.
1password has a button to minimize autofill pop-ups. Sometimes, it's an useful feature to declutter the screen. One of the reasons is that password managers might recognize wrong patterns and thus open a pop-up. Of course, there are many other reasons it exists.

More Details and Reasons for Weak or Vulnerable Password
In Proton Pass, clicking on any of the Login Items, it shows the security level of the password. Very often it mark my existing passwords as "Weak" or "Vulnerable". ***But, it is IMPORTANT to let users know the REASON for that!!!
Like Apple iCloud Passwords, it tells you why that specific password is graded as weak. Maybe because it is reused too frequently? Leaked in other databases? Or simply the combination of letters and numbers is not secure? Too short? Too simple? But Proton Pass DOES NOT tells you why!
What I mean is, there are a lot of reasons for the password to be classed as weak or vulnerable, and sometimes it just feel strange to me why that password is weak. For example, a password generated by Apple iCloud Password like Detdip-baqnyh-tedpa3 is graded as weak (It is considered safe in Apple).
Current Feature Affected:
- In Valuts > Login Item - Currently it only shows the security level label (WITHOUT any explanation)
- In Pass Monitor - Currently it only classify into weak or reused passwords, and the explanation in each item is simply saying it is weak (so this is actually not a valid explanation or elaboration of the reason why it is weak)Suggestions:
- In Vaults > Login Item - May add a paragraph to tell the reason for password grades, e.g., safe - not leaked or detected from databases; weak - less than 15 characters too short, weak - combination is too simple; vulnerable - leaked in *** incident in 20XX.
- In Pass monitor - Add classifications and modify the explanations to provide more context of why it is being labeled as vulnerable or weak. Please seriously consider about this! Proton Pass, you could lag behind the competition if you miss this feature while others are having such basic stuff.
Thanks for considering and hope this can be implemented.

Clear Search box when selecting Filter Vault Items
It is great that when I'm filtering on logins I get the current site selected by default. Super hel\pful. BUT when I want to use a credit card and I choose Cards, the box stays filled and so no cards show. I always then have to click the little x to clear the box so I can see my cards. Same for other valut filters too like Notes. Can you please make changing of the filter type clear the selection box if it's not logins. Cheers!

Give a name to websites
Ability to label the websites in the login's list with a name to identify them
When there is a login used for a long list of websites, it's hard to recognize them, even more if, for example fo development purposes you use the IP instead of an FQDN
For example see how 1Password does it

Selection of word lists for passphrase generation
I'd love to see a the option to select one of multiple available word lists for passphrase generation. The reason being that I am not a native English speaker and I'd like to create passphrases with words that I am most familiar with. I don't expect Proton to manage word lists for every language. A great option would be a "bring your own word list" feature. Then I could simply upload e.g. the DeReKo word list and use it for passphrase generation.
I would be fine with disclaimers that Proton cannot verify the quality of self curated word lists and therefore cannot ensure that they can generate enough entropy for for high quality features or similar, if this is a concern.I'd love to see a the option to select one of multiple available word lists for passphrase generation. Credit card Displays the corresponding issuing organization icon
By using the card number, you can display the corresponding card issuer, such as MasterCard, VISA, UnionPay, JCB, etc. icons to quickly locate the card type. Instead of implementing the current default icon. It would be better if you can customize the icon.

Proton Pass Auto-Fill access only
Just like LastPass -- be able to share a password login, but without the recipient being able to see the actual password... they can only use it/it will autofill on their end when given permission.
SUPER important when having employees... I have to use lastpass (which isnt actually secure) bc it gives the option to share without recipient viewing passwords :/

Proton pass - give more details about the data breach
When you receive an alert saying that your personal information and bank account have leaked with no more information (where it's available for example) it's highly stressful because it's useless (where the leak comes from for example, so I can at least update my personal info, change my payment info, etc.)

Passwordless login using proton auth
Can proton Authenticator be used for passwordless login to proton accounts through push notifications in the same way Microsoft Authenticator currently does using OIDC CIBA?

Allow customization of search result display. Example: [title] ([vault_name])
Current search results shows on each line:
[categoryicon] [vaulticon] [title]
It would be lovely if there were a feature that would allow users to customize the search result display using a simple bracket syntax using pre-defined allowable variables. For example, I would like my search results to display as:
[vaultname]: [categoryicon] [title]
or:
[categoryicon] [title][NEWLINE][vaulticon] [vaultname] ([lastedited])
or:
[categoryicon] [title,50] ([vaultname])... where ",50" indicates truncate to 50 characters.I could explain my use case... but invariably users will want customization options. Using bracket syntax, or a drag and drop interface to select available variables, would add a lot of flexibility and works very well in my experience. It would be important for customizations to be platform specific as mobile UI is more constrained than desktop UI.
A simple implementation would look something like:
1) Identify which existing variables Proton would like to allow in search results.
2) Identify which formatting mechanisms Proton would like to allow. Ex. newline, truncate, etc...
3) Publish syntax and list of variables+formatting options to a website. This could be an advanced feature
4) Add "Advanced > Customize Search Result Display Format"
4.1) Show a text input (or text area) with a "Verify Syntax" button
4.2) Clicking "Verify Syntax" would use regex to locate all suspected-variables found between brackets, loop through the list, and ensure validity. For example, [title] would pass whereas [thisisnotavalidpredefinedvariable] would fail.
5) When search results are displayed use the user-defined format instead of the default one. Simple regex + replace.Implementing this way is much more flexible than the existing hardcoded way. It should allow users to customize to fit their specific device (phone, tablet, desktop). If you add new features in the future, for example a tagging mechanism, it is easy to add a new allowable variable [tags]. Note that documentation would need to be version specific as [tags] might be an allowable variable in v2.3.0 but not v2.2.0.
Implementing this would close a number of exiting open feature requests and likely reduce the number of future search result feature requests to a minimum.

I want a feature to categorize saved items...
Others have already requested this, but it could be “Categories,” “Folders,” or “Tags.”
It doesn't have to be manual categorization—automatic sorting would be fine too.
I just want to categorize and organize them.I know Vaults can be used for classification.
But Vaults aren't fundamentally designed to function like folders or categories.
And if you can only use 20 of them, Vaults are insufficient as a replacement for folders or categories. When you have thousands of items, it's crucial to understand what services you're storing items on and how many you have.
If it's just login information fills, classification isn't necessary. Classification isn't for fills; it's useful for humans to manage things intuitively. This issue has been discussed extensively, and honestly, I don't hold out hope for it being implemented in PP.
Therefore, I use Bitwarden and 1Password. (Though I do pay for PP...)Those who reject the categorization feature can simply choose not to use it.
Implementing this feature won't make PP harder to use.
Rather, it would encourage users who like the categorization in Bitwarden or 1Password to switch to PP.
It's a case of “one size fits all.”UI/UX might need some refinement, but users aren't always satisfied with simple beauty alone.
Please... please, I beg you, implement the categorization feature.
Until this feature is implemented, I won't use PP as my primary password manager.
Conversely, if this feature is implemented, I will use PP as my primary.
Many others likely feel the same way (I see this argument frequently).
How many users would actually leave PP because of this feature? Probably very few.
Weighing the “slight user abandonment” from implementing this feature against the “significant gain in new users” – there's simply no reason not to implement it.Others have already requested this, but it could be “Categories,” “Folders,” or “Tags.”

Sync aliases with SimpleLogin to different vaults
SimpleLogin supports directories and regex. I want to sync for every directory/regex to a different vault in Proton Pass to keep it structured and have clear responsibility borders..
Currently, I can only specify one vault where all SimpleLogin aliases will be imported into, and then I need to manually clean up.4 votes -
Windows app not compatible with strict WDAC policies due to unsigned tmp.node files
Proton pass desktop app for Windows cannot be used in enterprise managed devices with Windows Defender Application Control set to block unsigned files. This is because the app creates temporary, unsigned, .tmp.node files in %appdata%/Local/Temp which are blocked by WDAG, making the app crash. Apparently, Brave browser also had this issue, see https://github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/12534 .
The idea is to make the app compatible in this scenario, by either signing these files or not generating them at all.2 votes -
Disable tray icon on Linux clients
Critically helpful if the tray icon could be disabled or hidden, so that when we close Proton Pass, the process terminates properly. This is especially important for the Linux client, where we often work with limited resources and need efficient process management. Currently, tray icon on Debian creates all sorts of issues like duplicate processes and tray icon staying active despite using Exit menu item.
