  1. Associate alias with login under one record

I find that I end up tracking two items for a number of logins: the login record and an associated email alias. Would it make sense to have the alias be a sub-record of the login record?

  2. Encrypted file attachments on export

When exporting data from Proton Pass in the encrypted PGP format with the "Include file attachments" option enabled, the resulting ZIP file contains attachments that remain unencrypted. This means that while the main vault data is encrypted, the attachments within the ZIP file are not.

Currently, Proton Pass does not offer an option to encrypt or password-protect the ZIP file containing the attachments.

  3. Auto-lock options for the Authenticator

It would be great to have auto-lock options for the app:
    • lock after X minutes of inactivity in the app,
    • lock after X minutes of system inactivity,
    • and an option to lock (or not) when the OS gets locked.

This would let users control whether the app should stay unlocked after the system is unlocked, or require the password again. This adds flexibility and better security.

  4. Folders and nested subfolders

I want to be able to use folders and sub-folders. I use strongbox on iOS which is based on keepass. It allows for as many folders and sub-folders that you want. I use folders to keep my stuff organized. I don't like having all my passwords and whatever in one big long list. I also using keepass as a bookmark manager. I really like the idea of your "vaults", but again I have over like 3000 bookmarks and folders are really needed. Also attachments with built in viewer is also important. I like to convert a lot of websites to…

  5. Keep the last 3 password history indefinitely

Keep the last 3 password history indefinitely. There are so many times that I have needed to get the last password because the updated password never took effect. And Bitwarden history had the last password indefinitely.

  7. Allow sharing with more than 2 free users while on paid plan

I am a subscribed Proton user, I made free Proton accounts for my family and shared a vault with two of them and they were able to accept it fine, but the rest cannot because they're "free users"

I can't have everyone in my family subscribe to Proton Pass just because I want to share a simple vault with them even though they don't use Proton Pass to begin with

What is the point of having extra allowance for sharing while on a paid plan if it'll only work with other paid users? It's not like every single person I'll…

  8. Unlimited 2FA for free accounts

The MFA shouldn’t be a paying feature for proton pass or any other proton app. This type of security nowadays are crucial to improve the protections of our account, to me there is nothing that would justify MFA being a paid feature.

  9. Authenticator: Click to show code. Hide all by default.

Currently, android Proton Authencator can work in one of two modes:
    1. Hide all codes and never display the code in the UI (even when clicked).
    2. Show all codes at all times.

    But this is not enough.

If you hide all your codes, you can only copy the code to the clipboard and use it on your phone/device. If you show all codes, you expose yourself to over-the-shoulder snooping.

A very common use case is that someone wants to keep all codes hidden by default but reveal a particular code when it's time to use it, when the user…

  10. QR code and one-time password login to Proton Authenticator

Please add an option in Proton Authenticator to log in using a QR code and a temporary (one-time) password, similar to Yandex and their Yandex.Key.

It’s very convenient: on the browser login page, there’s an option to log in via QR code. If you scan it with the authenticator app or even the camera, you are logged in automatically. If the authenticator isn’t installed on the phone, the link from the QR code is sent to the service’s app (e.g., email app), which then sends a notification like “Do you want to log in?” — this is how Yandex and…

  11. Authenticator web app

It was great to see Authenticator launch with apps on every platform. It’d be great to see that rounded out with a web app, e.g. authenticator.proton.me. I have hundreds of codes and the app reaches a point where management and scaling becomes more difficult to do on mobile. A web app would give some freedom for managing codes on the desktop without necessarily needing to install an app (or in scenarios where it’s not possible to install one).

  12. Two Passwords to Avoid the Hammer Attack Scenario

I would like to see the option in Proton Pass to use "either" of two passwords.

If you use password #1 Proton Pass would work as it usually does.

If you use Password #2, Proton Pass would only display certain records that have been tagged by the user.

The purpose of this would be to help prevent a successful "Wrench Attack".

If threatened physically to log into your account, you could use password #2 and minimize the loss of your data.

This would be similar to methods used on some crypto wallets. Here's an article on Wrench Attacks for reference.

  13. Add another grade level of "Good/Average" in between "Weak" and "Strong" for password strength

As a security-minded IT professional, I'm finding myself confused that very similar passwords are considered "Weak" or "Strong". If I generate a 14-character random password with lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols, Proton marks about half of them "Weak" and half "Strong". Similarly, all randomly generated 16-character lowercase passwords are marked "Vulnerable", while increasing that to 17 chars results in all being marked "Strong". There seems to be some strange inconsistencies with the grading algorithm (see another user's request titled "Improve the Accuracy for the Weak Password Detection").

Regardless of user knowledge and experience level, and accepting for now the separate…

  14. Authenticator groups

When you have many codes, it would we very helpful to have a way to group them. Consider to add a grouping feature, at least one level of grouping, to help users organizing codes.

  15. Drag and drop/sorting fields with mouse

It would be nice to have the possibility to drag fields within an element. Right now, if I want to change the order of fields like e-mail, password or custom fields like name, text, hidden text etc., I need to delete a field and add a new one. So please add the option to drag and drop fields within an element (like a login, a note etc.).

  17. Pass: Allow us to add a password field to a custom item

When creating a custom item I need the ablity to add a password field to it. What is the point of a custom item if you can't add a password field to it.

  18. Labels

Hello, Pass is really great and would be even better if items within the vault could be tagged with user defined labels, analogous to the way it is done in Mail.

  19. Edit the code name on the authenticator

For example, on Google Authenticator, you can edit the code name—for instance, if it shows “x account code,” you can rename it as “Twitter.”

  20. ability to hide vault

Hey! It would be very nice if I could hide from autosuggestions specific vault. I a have a shared vault by my business account and when I am logged in with my private I don't need those suggestions. This vault is shared only because of security reasons.
