Proton Wallet reworks
We need to have more functionality than Bitcoin - I'm sure most people don't use it. Why can't we send "real, physical" currencies to other Proton users?
Why can't we pay with Proton? You already process our Proton Unlimited subscriptions.
Why can't we add credit, debit and membership cards!11 votes -

Proposal for Integrating NFC Cards into ProtonWallet
TLDR: A secure, privacy-focused, and open-source digital wallet alternative is needed to address concerns over transaction tracking and data privacy/security in mainstream wallets like GPay and Apple Wallet, with ProtonWallet potentially filling this gap.
There is a growing need for a secure, privacy-focused, and open-source alternative to mainstream digital wallets like Google Pay (GPay) and Apple Wallet. This demand is driven by concerns over transaction tracking and data privacy/security, as users become increasingly aware of the potential risks associated with using these services.
Personal experiences, such as discovering transaction tracking in Apple Wallet and being restricted from installing alternative wallets,…

Core Proton Account Name Shouldn’t Be a Permanent Public Identity
The core Proton account name (e.g. firstname.lastname@proton.me):
- Can’t be changed
- Can’t be disabled
- Can always be used for login
- Is also most users' default email
- And is now tied to your Password Manager, Drive, Wallet, and future services
That means the most guessable part of your identity becomes your permanent digital root key.
If your name has ever been leaked, attackers now know:
- Your likely login email
- Your Proton identity
- Your cloud, password vault, crypto hub access point
And worse: you can’t revoke or hide it.
Meanwhile aliases can be deleted or turned off, but not the one thing…

CSV export
A typical CSV file export of all wallet information.
Everything in the "Transactions" list including UTC timestamp, destination address, amount, fee, transaction hash, number of confirmations, etc.
Also a separate file for everything in the "Addresses" list including index, amount and status, etc.

Add a climate-friendly blockchain
Proton Wallet has the potential to attract new people to cryptocurrencies but many are rightly put off by the high energy consumption and CO2 generation of Bitcoin. There should be at least one better alternative, for example using proof-of-stake. Also, ignoring global warming doesn't really contribute to a positive image of the Proton brand.

Add an option to create accounts compatible with Spark L2 Bitcoin
Hi,
Many people consider Proton Wallet not ideal to store life savings, but instead, good to store low Bitcoin amount and I think they are correct. So in my opinion make a lot of sense to implement Lightning, but instead of implementing Lightning directly, Proton should integrate https://spark.info/ L2 Bitcoin that has interoperability with Lightning. Users could choose to create Proton accounts compatible with Spark Bitcoin Layer. I think would be amazing, please consider this. Thanks.

Currency Conversion/Coin Swap
If the wallet starts supporting new coins it would be great if you added currency conversion support like, say, Cake Wallet has. Some popular Coin Swap services are ChangeNOW.io and trocador.app

Support Nano
In the current state of the wallet you can only store bitcoin. Please add XNO/Nano to the wallet. It's the fastest and lowest fee coin out there.

Proton Bank vault
Private Banking for those who seek a way to keep money secure. Proton credit card can make it easy to access and trade money. Best yet is to grant the money to anybody to take over when I cannot. Maybe a trading account option, no risky trades, proton approved stocks only.

watch-only option
Is it possible to add the watch-only option? For those who already have a cold wallet, it would be great to use the watch-only option to check their balance in Proton Wallet.

It would be great to receive a notification when the price of the bitcoin goes higher or under a certain threshold. We could set the values and be alerted when the price changes fastly.

GNU Taler support
GNU Taler is an open source payment system that allows users to make private payments using a compatible app. I suggest Proton consider adding Taler support to Proton Wallet as it would enable fiat currency payments in a way that would draw less scrutiny from regulators.
