Agree with all the earlier comments. The Meet add-on alone at USD 7.99/mo is actually more expensive than what I just paid for a year's subscription of Proton Unlimited (on a monthly basis). Granted, the Unlimited subscription was highly discounted, but still -- the fact that a SINGLE Proton product would cost me more per month than ALL Proton's other products combined is obscene...and smacks of a money grab by Proton.

USD 7.99 might not be a lot of money for Proton's business clients, but it is for a lot of the people who subscribe to Proton's services for their private lives, because they can't trust their employers' email, messaging, and other systems. It seems counter to Proton's mission to price a meet subscription for non-business customers in such a way that it pushes us back to the business solutions offered by Big Tech that we're trying to escape.

During COVID lockdowns, everyone realized quickly and acutely how much we needed new and better ways of communicating with our friends, families, colleagues, business partners, governments, and other groups. And, for better or worse, that need focused on simultaneous multi-party videoconferencing, and Zoom became the default platform for many people almost by accident because there weren't many viable alternatives oriented toward the individual consumer. Several years later, personal, public-sector, and private-sector reliance on videoconferencing remains high. In a sense, it has virtually become an indispensable public utility like the land-line telephone was in the 20th century.

Proton, do you really want to price-gouge your individual customers for your brand of a public-utility service when they have flocked to you in droves ever since Covid, committed virtually all their personal data to your care, and have been glad to pay you to keep it safe -- all because they trust you implicitly, and no one else? That doesn't sound like the Proton that was "built by the community, for the community" and that "puts people before profits."

I get the same feeling of betrayal, paying extra for an “unlimited” version of what was all the services Proton had to offer and now being left out of all the paid features of Meet, and Lumo as well. And this feeling of betrayal gets even stronger considering there isn't even a package deal for Unlimited users (e.g. buy Unlimited and Meet together, save a few percent)

I agree completely. I would like to suggest more access for Unlimited plans, just like you do for so many other of your services (perhaps all of them).
For Mail, VPN, Drive, etc, you offer basic services for free accounts and expanded services for Unlimited accounts. But not Meet. We have to specifically pay for expanded access for Meet, even if we have Proton Unlimited.
Why?
If you don't want to provide the same level of access for Unlimited that you do with a paid Meet account, then there is this OP idea of more than free but less than paid Meet. This is still a glaring inconsistency, but better than nothing.
Honestly, I have supported paying for Proton specifically because I believe in one of its goals of using the proceeds to offer free encrypted and privacy focused services for those who don't or can't pay for it. Here, having paid for Unlimited Proton offers nothing more when it comes to Meet. It's really not Proton Unlimited, now, is it?

Yes, one hour seems arbitrary as I have personal video meetings which exceed this limit.
As I am paying for Proton Family this seems not fair.
I have already used other software for meetings because I was not sure about whether I would exceed that limit.

I have the same.
- Great that it's free for everyone in the world for 1 hour
- But I pay € 287,88 (for my family) and have the same limit - doesn't feel fair.

I understand a paid subscription for unlimited meet, but a larger-than-free allowance should really be granted to those that already pay.
